Central locationPosted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: See above.
Cons: Bathroom could do with updating, and loo seat was loose.
Location: see above
I came to Swaffham for a School Reunion. Having passed The George on the way to school daily many years ago I had to stay there. The hotel is quite elegant, the bedroom was comfortable, but the bathroom was a little tired. Nice large car park and very central for exploring the town.

Hotel centrally situated.Posted May 10, 2014
Pros: The restaurant and bar were excellent Great atmosphere, great food, friendly helpful staff.
Cons: Even more modern rooms are dated. Shower/ washing facilities poor or just about adequate.
Location: Swaffham is a lovely old Market Town. North Norfolk Coast easily accessible. Several good National Trust Properties and great walking
On arrival offered second floor room up narrow fairly steep stairway. Began to feel quite claustrophobic the higher we got. No ensuite. Bathroom across corridor. Returned to desk and was allocated another room after saying they were full. This room was an improvement but bath/shower facilities poor. Church clock chiming every quarter of an hour was charming to us but might not suit everyone

Excellent Hotel in a quiet Norfolk Town.Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: The location was particularly good as it was situated just off the market square and was in easy reach of the shops. Food, staff and rooms were great.
Cons: The heating. It turned off at just the time we needed the room to be warm, however staff provided us with an electric fan heater.
Location: Near to Oxburgh Hall, Peckover House and the larger market town of Dereham. It is also ideal for those wishing to visit Sandringham.
This is an ideal hotel for anybody who wishes to visit friends in Norfolf or visit National Trust Properties in the area. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble for the hotel and we found all the staff exceptionally friendly. On both evenings we decided to stay in the hotel to eat. The menu was varied and the food cooked to order. There was also a fantastic atmosphere in the hotel. Although the hotel does accept pets and in fact there was one in the room next door to us, it was never a problem and in fact we only knew the dog was there when we saw it going out for a walk with the owners. I would highly recommend this hotel and we would certainly stay again in the future as we have friends in the area and it is ideal for visiting them.

Pros: Location, staff and relaxed atmosphere. People were very friendly [ staff and customers alike]
Cons: The rooms perhaps but it was good value so would not complain.
Location: It was a business visit but lots to do around the area.
Stayed one night on the 25th B/B .It's a great location and we enjoyed our stay which was made all the better by the staff. Would stay there again. Swaffham is a very nice town.

good market town - ideal as base for touring areaPosted Jan 7, 2014
Cons: Possibly a lift if anyone had difficulty in walking.
Location: Not much to do in the town apart from shopping. There is a museum but was closed in January
Hotel and all facilities excellent - staff were very friendly - food also excellent and good portions. If the weather was better we would have stayed longer. Ideal for touring around the Norfolk area.

tired room but still just ok for the money.Posted Jul 4, 2012
Pros: good food
Cons: bit grubby in room, not dog friendly pub as advertised, but allowed in room
Location: in nice little town
for the price this was ok- cheap enought for a one noght quick stay so we wernt expecting top class. the room was more than dates but fuctional with everything needed. the carpet was not clean however, and there were 2 iron burn marks on it which looked bad and felt gross when you walked on them . this may have recently happened which is why it is not yet changed. the bahtroom had 70's tiles on the walls, but if you kept your eyes shut in the bath you didnt notice them ! really small bahtroom but ok for a loo, sink and bath- so functional again ! for the price a good value stay , the hotel bar and restaurant was so much better- good modern decor, clean, snazzy, and really good menu. the one dissapointing thing for us was the only reason we booked to stay there- it said dog friendly, which is what we needed on this occasion, so phoned as well as looked on line- when we arrived we were allowed the dog in the allocated rooms, but not elsewhere in the pub, so not even whilst we had a drink- we would not have taken or wanted to take her in a restaurant area, but to state dog friendly, then not allow in or near the bar did not help us- we would have stayed elsewhere if we had know that she had to stay in the car until we decided to go to bed- good job it wasnt a hot or sunny day, or we would have had to go elsewhere.

Very friendly staff. Good value for money and excellent location. Room more than adequate and a nice breakfast. Would recommend the Romford House Restaurant in Swaffham for a delicious meal.
