a hotel with friendly staff

Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: Helpfulness of the staffs and the location (3 minutes walk to oxford square and u get plenty of buses running from either side of bus stop)
Cons: quick service to access cab with a competent cab driver
3 nights with a family turned out to be good experience. I was worried that the location of the hotel would be way off from the city. But it turned out to be negative. The hotel is peacefully located and the quickest bus stop is just 2 minutes away from the hotel (including time spent on traffic lights). We did not however use pool facility due to our own time and can't comment it. The lift seemed congested though but there are two lifts. Access to restaurants within the hotel can be a problem as I did not see disability access. We had baby pram and we didn't bothered about dinning in. We had to wait for about 2 hours for an access cab and this was the worst experience of our visit. The cab driver was rude on top of that. He didn't even know how to fix a baby capsule.

Great location to Restaurants and local Parks

Posted Apr 7, 2014
I wanted something close to Royal Botanic Gardens ~ 15-20min walk perfect. Rooms are small but have everything you need. Bathroom modern. Italian Restaurant attached to hotel was excellent. A little noisy the first night but hotel is in process of changing window's to eliminate external noise.

Not too far from anything we wanted to do

Posted Mar 20, 2014
The hotel was quite nice. Not great - but we didn't spend much time there so it was fine. Don't expect concierge service, but the Information Center (located in the Rocks) was excellent. The Sydney area is QUITE expensive, so I felt very lucky that I could snag a triple room at the Cambridge at a decent price. Not too far from anything: supermarket & pharmacy (2 minutes), subway station (5 minutes), Opera House ( 30 minute walk), Circular Key (20 minute walk), awesome breakfast at Lumiere (5 minutes).

OK location but disappointing room

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: nothing
Cons: The smell coming from the air conditioning and hallway, the water supply and temp in the shower, the room hotel needs a good upgrade.
Location: location fine if you want to be near oxford st (but not paddington end)
This hotel rates itself much higher than what it actually is. The room was only a little better than a dormitory, the beds were comfortable but short for anyone over 5 8". We had no hot water in the shower, it was only tepid at 9.30am and the water pressure changed throughout. We were woken up by the phone after midnight and it didn't stop making a beeping noise so we had to disconnect it. We told this to the staff on reception when we checked out, and what a waste of time. They were only mildly interested. At what we had to pay for two nights I would not recommend to anyone. They also charged us a card fee on top of what we had confirmed through expedia, so would have been cheaper to select pay now option than pay at hotel.

Great location

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Service. Expedia should identify type of room booking
Location: Great caf├ęs,shopping, & tourist haunts
We were not happy when we checked in to find that we had 2single beds instead of a double. Staff asked for our booking information, which unfortunately Expedia didn't specify type of room. We were very disappointed that we had to sleep in single beds. We asked for a wake up call & this didn't happen.

Clean and decent in a great location - staff are really good too. Was pretty quiet also considering the location. Shower was nice and strong. ! Minibar was full of good variety of food and beverages.

Not impressed

Posted Feb 18, 2014
Dark room, had 4 knocks at door on first day when "privacy please" notice was on door. Not the best start when recovering from jet lag. Ask for a room with natural light and away from maintenance cupboard or you will be in for a noisy stay. Reception response was " I just work here" speak to manager when available.

Modern hotel, good location, friendly staff

Last minute booking and late check in, which was all fine with the friendly staff. Would recommend this hotel for family's and couples alike. Very good location, with good access to restaurants and the centre.
