Older Hotel in a Great Neighborhood

Posted Dec 19, 2014
Pros: Great location, close to restaurants, transportation and beaches.
Cons: The staff attitude towards customers. I don't like being treated like a criminal the second I walk thru the door.
This was a last minute booking to replace another reservation that fell through. The Devere is located in Potts Point, a quiet neighborhood with lots of interesting ethnic restaurants, shops and coffee houses. Unfortunalely, after a 10 hour flight, two hours of waiting for luggage and customs, and several more hours of transportation and telephone difficulties I had no energy to do anything but fall asleep. However, the first thing the desk clerk did was ask for an imprint of my credit card for a security deposit! This was after I have already paid (non-refundable) for the room via Expedia. If I had known that the Devere's usual clientele was of such low class that they required a damage deposit from everybody while checking in I would not have booked my stay here. I left immediately after breakfast (filling, but definitely not gourmet) the next morning.

Bra hotell, rena rum, jättebra personal! Vi gick till operahuset utan problem. Sightseeingbuss stannar nära, likaså tåg och buss!

good location no doubt but old and outdated rooms

Posted Dec 10, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: update the rooms - replace carpet and stuff
Location: walking distance to downtown to bridge and opera house and everything - 5 minutes down the road from king's cross train station
the room we had was a hole with windows facing a wall - couldn't even see if the sun was shining or not - rooms are very small - bed is supersmall for two people - old and outdated furniture - old stairways and everything - but definitely good location very close to king's cross and all public transportaion - so I suppose it's a good price for the location but still i doubt i would go back

コスパのいい便利なホテル

Posted Dec 2, 2014

Budget hotel at a pretty rough area of town

Posted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: price
Cons: -
The hotel was satisfactory. For a 2 night stay in Sydney, this was ok. But beware that you will pass by dodgy areas and clubs especially if you're out at night. But I never felt unsafe though.

great location

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: location!
Cons: wifi kept cutting out when I was trying to Skype my son :(
Location: train station just around the corner, gateway to everywhere!
location was great! great eating places, COFFEE and a supermarket just over the road from the hotel. one minute you are on this lovely tree lined street, then as you turn the corner BAM right into kings cross ;) but that didn't phase us. I was in town for a show at the Sydney Opera House, location was perfect, nothing was too far.

Good location

Posted Nov 12, 2014
Pros: Location and price
Cons: Shower in room
Location: Lovely little shops, good choice of places to eat, near the station and close to everything.
The hotel is situated in Potts Point which is where we wanted to be. Close to restaurants, Kings Cross Station and St Vincent's Hospital. The location is ideal and the area has lots of character but additionally you can walk through the Botanical Gardens to the Sydney a Opera House in about half an hour. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. My daughter and her partner ended up staying an extra couple of nights because it was so convenient and the hotel staff upgraded their room. I would say that there were a couple of maintenance issues in our room that I would have asked to have fixed if I had stayed longer and had time, but all in all it's about the excellent location and very good value for money. If you pay budget rates you get a budget room. It's worth paying the extra for a Premium room if you can.

Liegt im Zentrum vom Stadtteil Potts Point.

Posted Nov 4, 2014

Reasonable 3.5* hotel close to central Kings Cross

Posted Oct 31, 2014
Pros: Position and price
Cons: Being offered a different room when hotel not full to get away form lift noise and attention to state of carpet and bathroom
Location: As I was in Sydney for business, I didn't look around much, but very well located for public transport, taxis and good access to many eateries etc.
Hotel well signed from Macleay Street entrance, and large lobby clean and orderly. Very efficient check in. I was given a room on level 3, but it was right next to the lift. I immediately asked to be shifted but was told the hotel was full (it was not) so I had to remain in the room. Constant noise of the lift up & down ALL night, very little sleep. Had an internal room, so no natural light and loud noise from hotel's airconditioner plant 24/7. Carpet had a rip in it just inside the door, and my wheely case got caught in it!! Bed comfortable and clean, good bathroom amenities, but shower (over bath) very small and large chip in bath. Overall OK for the price I paid, but rooms need a little attention.
