Close to Central Station and light rail to Lyric

Posted Apr 11, 2014
Pros: Clean and comfortable and so well located in relation to Central Railway Station and to Light Rail to Lyric Theatre.
Cons: Order evening meal at dining room instead of at the bar.
Location: Close to CBD, Darling Harbour and to the harbour.
Overnight stay after attending show at Lyric Theatre - clean, comfortable room.

Not happy

Posted Apr 9, 2014
One of the night staff used my credit card details and email address to buy a wide angle lens for an iPhone 5 with PayPal . I don't own an iPhone and don't have a PayPal account. I was fast asleep at 11.35pm when the transaction took place in Sydney. I did not use my credit card in Sydney but had to leave an impression at reception on Sunday evening when I booked in. I followed the link to the website to cancel the purchase but everything was written in Chinese characters and this made the job impossible.

Adjacent railroad station

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: It is older but in good shape - some renewal would freshen it up
Location: On George St. Can catch the 555 free bus and, once again, proximity to railway station.
We needed a hotel that was as near as possible to the Central Railway station in Sydney and this one fit the bill perfectly. As noted, we had no problems with any of it. We were registered for a twin room and asked for a queen and request was fulfilled at no cost. If you need to make a connection to the railroad and you don't want to drag your luggage too far, this hotel will work very well.

Confusing booking arrangement

Posted Apr 5, 2014
Pros: The uprgarde
Cons: The booking arrangements
Location: Suited us as it was near transport and the Capital Theatre.
There were problems with our booking when the hotel double booked us. When my wife arrived she was advised that the breakfast was not included. Later when I arrived this confusion was fortunately cleared up.

Very close to Central Station

Posted Apr 3, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Room Size and facilities
Room is not that big but very near to Central Station. And Chinatown is just one street away. So overall it is very good location.

Great quiet hotel in a convenient location

Posted Apr 2, 2014
Pros: it's simplicity, convenient location & laid back atmosphere
Cons: Nothing to be improved based on my experience.
Location: Event cinemas, Capitol Theatre & Haymarket are within easy walking distance as is the CBD of Sydney should you choose to venture that far
Easy walking distance to the city and Central Railway Station. Plenty of options for meals depending upon budget. A comfortable & inviting hotel

Average hotel, average stay

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: Old charm
Cons: more sitting area in lobby, bigger bathroom space, nicer bar downstairs - one that has natural light etc
Location: excellent location
Hotel was OK on entrance and great location. Double bedroom was quite small with basic amenities - no free wifi or internet. Bathroom was very small with only a small glass panel above sink - no other space to put toiletries or makeup.

good hotel close to central station - short walk.

Posted Mar 13, 2014
Pros: Its closeness to the railway station.
Cons: Yes, the wifi needs to be cheaper
Location: Catch the bus to the circular quay. Or the train to bondi.
Hotel near station - walked across road with suitcases - how good was that. Next day back to central station to catch train to international airport. Good restaurant in the hotel - simple fare and inexpensive. Hotel will keep suitcases for the day at $2 a bag. Wifi a bit expensive. Needs to be free for the first half hour at least.
