One night stay

Posted Apr 25, 2015
Pros: Convenient to transport
Cons: Room needs updating.
Location: Close to Central Station, Paddy's market and China town.
An OK hotel if you just need a bed for the night. Bed was comfortable and room/hotel was quiet during the night. I paid $99 for one night wouldn't want to pay any more than that.

Well located

Very close to Market City and Paddy's Markets. China town. Easy access to CBD. Free bus to CBD close by (555). Hotel room was at the end of the corridor so very quiet location. Not much noise from outside even though there were road works at the time. Staff were very helpful. Room small but adequate. Would stay again if in Sydney.

Convenient location

Posted Apr 23, 2015
Pros: Convenience to Central Station as a stopover prior to continuing to airport next morning. We have used this hotel on many previous occasions.
Cons: All OK.
Location: Close to Central Station and all locations to north of CBD. Walkable to Darling Harbour.
Arrived during recent tempest/floods so timing was stressful. As usual the hotel proved to be calming however, and the staff understanding and helpful.

Great location

I had a nice experience, my room was spacious and clean. And even though its located smack bang in the city and a busy pub on the lobby level, it was very quiet all night. Didnt hear a thing, not even the traffic in the morning

Centrally located. Nice staff. Small rooms. Fruit flies in bathroom. Expect to pay extra for everything. Lots of good places to eat in the area.

Close to Central Station

The hotel was adequate, staff efficient. The queen room was very small and no view at all. There was noise in the hallways at night from inconsiderate neighbours. Security good, bustling Chinatown neighbourhood.

Stay at Great Southern

Posted Mar 10, 2015
Pros: Close to all transport, train, bus or taxi - being on George st. Easy walk to Chinatown for dinner. Comfortable stay.
Cons: It is an old building, nothing much could be done to improve it apart from tearing out the interior and starting again.
Only 1 night stay in transit to international flight. Breakfast was good, bar on ground floor was a hive of activity with what appeared to be a real league of nations. Pavement tables great for people watching.
