Excellent hotel close to harbour

Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: The atmosphere and the high level of professionalism of the staff
Location: Plenty to do with museums, Opera House, ferry trips, The Rocks, Botanic Gardens and much more.
We had a lovely stay and enjoyed being made to feel special by all members of staff. The hotel facilities were excellent and its location close to Circular Quay and the Opera House made it easy to access a range of activities.

Intercontinental Sydney

Cons: breakfast disappointing . Lack of quality breads - looked like Coles, not a craft baker. Chef would not poach eggs. referred me to pre-made cold eggs
Very friendly Hotel staff, good room, enjoyable in room meal. good selection on in room dining menu. great access to city & places to go running (would recommend the Botanic Gardens)

It's the little touches...

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: I particularly like the promptness of the room service and the turn down service.
Cons: Room service pricing.
I stayed here for two nights on business last week. As a solitary female traveler, this hotel always makes me feel safe and well looked after. The rooms are spotlessly clean and a decent size, the beds and pillows divine and the bathrooms just right. Great shower pressure and all the right toiletries. Tips for improvement: Pricing of the room service is a little high and doesn't reflect good value however the food is good. I did particularly order a cappuccino with breakfast only to receive the standard pot of coffee so loss of points for that one. Bonus points however for the courtesy call telling me breakfast would be a few minutes later than the original time I was given. Getting a late checkout is such a bonus, its a shame the pleasure is dulled by having a staff member bang on the door at 9.30am on the day of departure (with late check out of 2pm) asking if I'm checking out. Huh? Did I miss something? Are you asking me to get out at 9.30am? A quick call to reception cleared this up but the stress of thinking I was being turfed at an earlier than usual hour really took the edge of the relaxing ambiance I had finally got going. The real highlights of this hotel: The staff. With the exception of the staff member asking if I was checking out at the wrong time, the staff were supremely professional and delightful. The rooms are great and the air conditioning works properly at night - no baking in an airless pit here. The bedding is superb. Highly recommended!

Fantastic hotel, great for a special occasion

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: Rooftop bar & view from the room.
Cons: One lane narrow driveway. Having to wait behind cars unloading & loading luggage.
Location: Very close to Circular Quay, Opera House, Botanical Gardens & the city.
Extremely helpful staff, great views from the pool overlooking the Harbour Bridge & Opera House. Rooms were very comfortable, well equipped with magnificent harbour views. Great bars & restaurants within the hotel too. Well worth the money for a special occasion or night on the town.

Top class pub

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: Position and excellent facilities and service
Cons: Being able to order a cake or biscuit with coffee in lobby café. Breakfast to be served hot.
Location: Opera House Circular Quay ferries Water front dining
We have stayed here before and always find everything to be very excellent. Great position for enjoying a show at the Sydney Opera House and close to lots of restaurants and activities. Only a couple of small niggles, couldn't order cakes with coffee for morning tea in the lobby café and breakfast in Café was not very hot.

Excellent location and fabulous staff

The hotel was right in the heart of where we wanted to be near the harbor. The ferries, harbor and the Opera House were less than 5 min walk. The concierge staff were very helpful in getting tickets for a show an finding a last minute dinner reservation. I do think the hotel needs to expand its informal dining options, as one couldn't get a table without booking ahead at its casual restaurant on a Monday night.
