Central

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Location was great
Cons: Hotel is starting to look a bit tired and the whole place could do with updating
Location: Very close to shops and a short walk to circular quay
Depressing dark room with hardly any natural daylight, balcony looked out to brick wall of adjacent building 10 feet away that completely closed us in. Unable to sleep on Saturday night due to bar below and people in the alleyway below our room as the sound was amplified, oh and it was used as a toilet by some. Complained to the night staff who were very understanding and moved us from the 5th floor nightmare to the 11th floor front of hotel room which was far better. Pool was out of order due to refurbishments which was a bit disappointing as this was not mentioned.

Great location.

Pros: Room clean, has a good sized refrigerator.
Cons: Unable to change temperature for heating/cooling, room was slightly cool but not cold (winter). The only fault I could comment on.
Close to Circular Quay, Harbour Bridge, Opera House and The Rocks. Short walk to Darling Harbour and The Star Casino.

Nice Hotel but unfriendly useless staff

Posted Aug 7, 2014
Cons: Customer service in every area.
Never staying here again. Hotel was nice but staff made this visit more hassle than its worth. Been charged an extra $140 and nobody can explain why. Called numerous times with no answer and no call back like they keep promising. $100 bond is still pending on my credit card after 5 days. Keep getting put on hold and staff on reception told me they were busy with guests so they can not speak to me now. Wrong attitude for a hotel which charges $385 per night as I am also a guest but staff are not interested in dealing with any issues.

Excellent location

Posted Aug 2, 2014
Cons: The lifts are somewhat slow.
This is the second time I have stayed at the Mantra and it is a great base for a stay in Sydney. We had a studio apartment which was spacious and had everything we needed. Although right on George street, we found no difficulty sleeping at night as the bedroom was situated back from the street. We caught the train to and from the airport and the station is only a short walk from the Mantra. We liked the locality as it was close to the main shopping district and yet very close to the Rocks and Circular Quay. We enjoyed a dinner and breakfast at the new lobby restaurant. Will definitely stay here again.

Very central. Close to tourist attractions and cbd

Pros: Clean, comfortable and ideal location. Heated pool and spa on the roof.
Cons: Update and renew old equipment please.
Location: Free bus outside to city centre. Close to circular quay, harbour bridge, the Rocks.
Would of be excellent but our washing machine and tumble dryer didn't work, so we had to get the staff to take it to another room to clean and dry.

Good location near to Opera house etc

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Location, rooms
Cons: Will be better once the major programme of works to upgrade foyer and dining areas is complete
Location: Really good location adjacent to harbour bridge/Opera house and main shopping areas
Nice hotel with good rooms, disappointing that there was a lot of construction upgrade work taking place that limited facilities
