Location location next to railway and city center

Pros: Price was very reasonable as we only needed somewhere for the one night
Cons: every thing was to our satisfaction
Location: southern end of Pitt St; near City center; close to railway circle
Booking was simple - staff excellent and extremely helpful

Sydney Experience

Pros: Cleanliness and location
Location: The location was excellent and food and drinks were close by.
I stayed at this hotel on our honeymoon for three nights in September and my experience was good. The hotel staff were helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was perfect and everything was walking distance which was good.

Location: Good
Receptionist told us, that room was small and we were ok with that, it was only for one night. We had a terrible night. I think there are no insulation exists in this hotel. We could hear, when someone were going to the toilet & flushing water after. Also we could hear conversation on the mobile in the other room. The TV in another room was switched on and we thought, that it was on in our room, I even asked my husband to turn the TV off. We would never stay in this hotel again, I'd rather pay a bit more.

did not like the room / safe did not work, menu was not in room carpet frayed - got another room and was much better - did not like the fact $100 AU was taken off credit card to be paid back in up to 2 weeks later "for security reasons" ? The food in the returant was nice. Had to bail out of bedroom undressed or partly dressed due to a fire evacuation - could of done with a free breaky as had to wait in the lobby and go down 6 flights of stairs!

Staff was rude and lazy. The service was poor. We asked for dessert plates and cutlery and front desk told us to call restaurant. We called restaurant and they refused to bring up and told us to go down and get them ourselves. We called front desk to complain and they brought up for us without an apology but trying to explain that its not their fault, its the restaurants fault?!? Theres clearly no bond between departments in this hotel.

Too noisy and old

Pros: The only redeeming factor was that the shower was fantastic with great water pressure.
Cons: A Full reno might struggle to make this better
Location: It is in a good area, but not 4.5 star.
No Parking a real issue, its just too old, lift is terrible, cars, bins, screaming from the street. I took this up as an Expedia deal where you don't know the the hotel just the price, its said 4.5 star far from it. 2.s at very best.

We had booked a double room and received a shoe box for a room, first day there the spout on the sink flew off when water was turned on, informed concierge and nothing was done, went for breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel and they served chilli sausages after informing the chef of the chilli sausages that he didn't even realise were chilli he said he'd rectify the problem and have beef sausages the next day. This continued for 3 days.. Chilli sausages every morning. And top off our stay we had organised with a concierge 24 hours prior so that an air bus could collect us and have us at the airport on time, the concierge didn't even make the booking and wouldn't give us our $30 fee back for the air bus. We had to catch a taxi to the airport.
