Badly in need of renovation

Posted May 29, 2015
Pros: Nothing in particualar.
Cons: A full renovation and friendlier staff.
Location: Great location to stay in Sydney.
We had a four night stay, moved rooms after the first night due to a air con ducting system roaring above our bedroom ceiling. We were offered a buffet breakfast for this inconvenience, which we did take up, but that food was just average, not bad, just nothing special. Throughout the hotel the wallpaper is peeling, there was mould on our bedroom ceiling in room 732, the large deck is so dilapidated with rust and rot it is unpleasant to sit out there. We did complain to management that we were paying 5 star rate for a three star hotel. They said they had just been bought out and an upgrade to the hotel would be taking place shortly - not sure how that would benefit us! Told they would do something for us but we knew it was just lip service. Overall, a very old and tired hotel that you pay more for than the City 5 star hotels because it is the only big hotel in that area of Sydney. Would not stay here again until renovation takes place!

The hotel is very old and needs a complete refurbishment. The room reflected its age and was not worth the $280 paid.

Pros: Not much
Cons: Cleaners who really clean or HAVE the time to clean and paid properly
Location: Great but was only an overnight and there was a storm
It was dreadful and the manager was a very abrupt person

Pros: Clea, comfortable. Love having a balcony. Amazing staff.
The staff on the reception desk could not have been more helpful or more friendly. They were absolutely outstanding.

Much better options, even for an airport hotel

Posted Mar 26, 2015
Pros: I had a nice balcony with bay view (fifth floor), but unfortunately, also 1/3 of the view was unattractive view of hotel's roof.
Cons: Overall, hotel gives impression of needing a renovation. Plus, the price was much to high, relative to other hotels where I stayed or were available
Location: There is a restaurant one block away that specializes in chocolate and other deserts - but I actually had a really good open-face steak sandwich there
I selected this place because I wanted a hotel close to the airport and also on/near a beach, to relax before the long trip back to USA. For an airport hotel, it was OK, as a beach location, very disappointing (I much preferred Coogee). Overall, hotel is "dated" (to use the expression often used on TV). There are about a dozen restaurants in the surrounding block, but oddly, these are mostly Greek - even the Thai place seemed to be catering to Greeks, which is rather curious.

Good room service and nice pool. Easy check out. Dated decor. Major issue was room had clearly been used by a smoker before me.

Great service nice people

The hotel is a little run down I left a note with reception on check out for 7 items of room maintenance to make the next stay a bit more comfortable and convenient. Little things like the buttons on the TV remote no working properly and easily, the digital display on the clock face being half missing. Rust and corrosion on the bathroom door jam.
