overnight stay as I was travelling on next dasyPosted Nov 30, 2013
Pros: It is very central and a quiet hotel.
Location: central for paddys market, china town, transport to city center and circular quay
Having stayed at this hotel quite a few times when I visit from Scotland. It is very central and easy to get to various parts of the city. As I am over 70 and have travelled on my own at various times I feel I can get about without any problem , even at night as I have gone to the Capitol theatre a few times.

good locationPosted Nov 20, 2013
Pros: the room basic but the bed was so comfortable wanted to take it home but all in all we were satisfied, the buffet breakfast was to die for, excellent
Cons: my only thing is maybe a little more décor e.g. some pictures the rooms and lift areas are a little lifeless not a real issue
Location: location was ok within walking distance to everywhere, its a fair walk to the opera house but good exercise after a wonderful breakfast
first time at this hotel only I night stay everything was in order with check in and all our request were met e.g. late check out, holding of bags and information, very quiet room we were on the 12th floor and couldn't hear any work men working down below., great value hotel including breakfast would stay again

Fraudulent selling of rooms with a view!Posted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: Leaving it and moving into The Westin, which was amazing!
Cons: Lifts, advertising of rooms, levels of service, state of rooms, responsiveness of staff.
Location: Not a great location, you really need to get a taxi or drive to get to any of the tourist sights.
We booked on Expedia and paid extra to get a room with a view. When we checked in we were told we had a room with a city view. It turns out that there are no rooms with a city view and haven't been for over two months! The manager blamed Expedia, but the people responsible are Novotel. We were offered free car parking, but that did not compensate for ruining our children's first visit to Sydney. It's now almost a month since we stayed and we still haven't heard from the Front Office Manager, who said he would do something about it, even though we have sent an email to him. The lifts were really slow with up to 12 people waiting for them at a time also. This hotel is not up to Novotel's standard in many aspects, so be aware!
