Good location, near Sydney Central Train Station

Pros: Very clean rooms and have rooms which could accomodate 2 adults & 2 children comfortably.
Cons: Provide more signage to guide drivers or people to locate the hotel more easily, especially useful to someone going there the first time.
Location: Very near to Sydney Paddy's Market. Can shop for clothes and many other accesories. Can also take the tram to Fish Market to enjoy good seafood.
Nice and friendly hotel staffs which made our stay a very memorable and pleasant one. Good breakfast spread.

Great location in the middle of Chinatown

Pros: Modern d├ęcor, staff a really friendly and helpful, buffet breaky terrific as is the central location, parking onsite is great too
Cons: Rooms were well laid out bathrooms a bit pokey and beds too soft for me
Location: Easy walk to Chinatown with tons of eateries, Darling Harbour easy walk as is George St and the Capitol Theatre
Great location in the middle of Chinatown easy walk to Broadway and Darling Harbour. Hotel staff were fantastic and the buffet breakfast really nice. We enjoyed our stay and would come again if in Syndey. Expedia is fantastic!

Great location to station and easy walking to Capitol theatre as well as large range of places to eat. Friendly helpful staff and super breakfast . Can't wait to come back

Chinatown location handy to Paddys Market

Pros: The bed was lovely and firm! Buffet breakfasts were great.
Cons: Room furniture looking worn out. Staff response to our parcel issue.
Location: I did not enjoy the location. It felt like I was in Seoul instead of Australia. Paddys Market only 2min away as was George Street. Central Location.
Short, dead end street location shaded by other high rises - taxi and bus congestion outside due to the lack of room to turn around. The room was clean and basic, bathroom very compact, but the bed very comfortable. Our biggest issue was getting staff to find a parcel that was courier delivered 7 days prior, but they kept telling us it was not there! Their manual record system failed and some staff either didn't understand our English or simply didn't want to go the extra mile to find out what happened to it - we had to speak to numerous staff over a couple of days before speaking to their Manager who found the parcel upstairs in their conference room! Very stressful! The buffet breakfasts were great and I can recommend the Balsamic Roast Pumpkin, Bean and Walnut Salad which I ate more than once! I did not enjoy the surrounding China Town location though and although the room pricing was excellent with Buffet Breakfast included, I would not choose to stay there again.

Quiet Hotel with Great Breakfast

Pros: Quiet and breakfast
Cons: Some furniture was a bit worn
Location: 5 min walk from Central Station with Chinatown and Markets 2 min away. Approx 10 - 15 min walk from city.
The Novotel Sydney Central was a lovely hotel in a quiet area of the city yet close to central station and a comfortable walk from the SGC. The service was fantastic and value for money was exceptional. The breakfast included was full continental breakfast which was delicious with plenty of variety.

Disappointed with front desk staff

Location: Patty's Market & China Town
Hello, I just wanted to share our disappointing check in experience with your establishment, this afternoon at approximately 2pm. I booked a 'double queen' room via Expedia back in Feb for my friend & I. Upon arrival, we were checked into a 'King' room. After making our way back down to reception to alert your staff of this error, we were told (sorry unable to remember his name but he was of Indian decent) that a 'single' bed would be bought up. The staff member advised us that there was no other option & that the hotel was 'fully booked'. He then went on to explain that as we had our reservation via a 'third party' we get what we are given. This was completely unacceptable & I asked to be transferred to another Novotel in Sydney, only then did he check that a 'double queen' room was available however we needed to wait a further 30 mins for the room to be cleaned & made available. In all, the checkin process took over 1 hour. At no time was an apology offered or any compensation for this error given.

Hotel near the Central station

Hotel is near to the Central station so it was easy for those who take public transport. It is easy to find food. Check in and check out was fast. Staffs are friendly. Room is clean.

Pros: Location, no-nonsense approach, modern decor
This is a great place to stay in Central Sydney. It is across the street from the Central Train Station and just a block or two away from Haymarket and Chinatown. It worked out perfectly as our base of operations.

Must like walking because you won't get taxi.

Pros: The staff were very pleasant and very helpful. The room was spacious and the King bed comfortable. Buffet breakfast offered a good selection of food
Cons: Condition of the hotel (scuffed & chipped walls) not in keeping with "Novotel" brand. NO free WIFI, in this day and age, now that's POOR!!!
Location: If you have nowhere in particular you want to see or be near locale was fine. hadn't stayed in that part of town before. Close to Chinatown.
Only what I have added in the comments below. Central station is close by but very confusing to find the hotel if you come in by train. Taxi's seem not very keen to attend as was evidenced on the morning of our departure. Us (4) and another couple were left waiting for 15 minutes for our ordered cabs before a man in a mini van offered to take the 6 of us to the Airport for $70.00. We felt that as the cabs were well over due we had no option other than to accept.....or miss our planes We had the same issue with a cab the night before. We waited for 30 minutes although told a cab was in the area and would be there in 10 minutes. This is not the Hotels fault but patrons should make them aware that getting a cab from their hotel is anything but good.

Pros: Proximity to central station and the hotel room is very quiet and clean.
Cons: missing towel rails
Location: Very close to central station/bus stations and restaurants.
Staff are very friendly and easy to deal with, not to mention they are always smiling.
