Good family accommodation in heart of SydneyPosted Dec 18, 2014
Pros: Clean airy rooms, good size - accommodated 3 of us with trundle bed
Location: trains, ferries, buses almost at doorstep - centre of Darking harbour - fantastic location
Had great stay here once again - good value family accommodation, very central to city centre, ferries, gains & buses.

Older hotel containing basic fittingsPosted Dec 17, 2014
Pros: Quiet, good views, good air conditioning (essential in Sydney!).
Cons: Better instructions on access to Darling Harbour. Get rid of temporary fencing in front of units.
Location: Good location, but difficult to access nearby attractions - Darling Harbour, Aquarium, Maritime Museum etc - unclear where to go/ very convoluted.
A bit pricey, considering the age of the apartments. Close to Darling Harbour, with very good views (if you paid for a Harbour view). Difficult to access Harbour though - had to walk thru another hotels car park, then several levels of a shopping centre to access Darling Harbour. A bit strange, having open 'fenced in' areas in front of many apartments - a bit tacky & temporary looking. Apartments old, but reasonably comfortable. Aircon worked well.

Nice quiet hotel in darling harbourPosted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: Loved that it was clean, it was nice and peaceful and quiet, lovely view of Anzac bridge, everything was neat and tidy
Cons: Perhaps a bit more lighting around the area that's not too dim
Location: There's the darling harbour shopping centre probably about 5min walk, very close. There's restaurants like crinitis and stores like cotton on etc
It was a lovely room, very similar to a townhouse where first level on too had kitchen with everything supplied too!, laundry and iron and ironing board and lounge/dining room and 1 large bedroom and 1 twin room on the bottom with an ensuite and another separate bathroom. Was clean and well presented. Would definitely recommend it.

Pros: THE FACE WE WERE PUT ON THE PENTHOUSE FLOOR, MADE US FEEL SPECIAL
WAS GREAT TO WALK OVER TO DARLING HARBOUR ANY TIME OF THE DAY AND NIGHT AND FELT SAFE. WAS STILL CLOSE ENOUGH TO WALK TO THE CITY. LOVED THE FRI AND SAT NIGHT ACTION IT WAS FULL ON TO ALL HOURS. LOVED PEOPLE WATCHING. ALSO SAW SOME FAMOUS PEOPLE WHICH WAS GREAT. CLOSE TO PADDY'S MARKETS AND HEAPS OF FOOD PLACES.

Great location...easy walk to Darling Harbour.Posted Dec 11, 2014
Great location, close to Darling Harbour, and the shops and restaurants there. The one-bedroom unit is spacious. Decor is basic, but clean and functional. If you are staying for several days, it is convenient to have laundry facilities in the unit.

Short walk to Darling HarbourPosted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: Fully self contained with washer and dryer if you are there long enough to need these facilities.
Cons: Could provide a few more tea bags/ coffee and milk. We had only four small long life milk containers for an overnight stay.
Location: Walk to Darling Harbour which has a lot of construction going on at present. Light rail to Central railway, Star casino and Entertainment centre
Stayed once before in a nicer room but this time was on level two and room was dark.

Our FindingsPosted Nov 11, 2014
Pros: Locality and cleanliness also price.
Cons: Air conditioning .... seems it's switched off over the night.
Location: Darling Harbour and all it has to offer ..... need ant thing else be said ??
Had a nice stay for nearly a week in November 2014. Well located with in walking distance to the Star, and Centerpoint ( though don't recommend the "rotating restaurant" food just OK and service poor ..... had a really unprofessional weightier ) .... oh! back to the Oakes, all in all a very pleasant experience except for two separate morning fire alarms going off ( not the Oakes fault ) rooms serviced well and a clean room with nice views. Will stay again.

Close to darling harbourPosted Nov 4, 2014
Cons: The lift
Location: Quick walk over bridge to Darling Harbour, great restaurants and attractions
The hotel was clean the staff very friendly. My only complaint would be the lift, the card kept deactivating and the lift took ages. I would stay again anytime.
