disappointment..Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: not a lot....
Cons: the entire hotel could do with improving....especially the parking system.....
Location: location is good...as it's in Darling Harbour....close to good dining areas....
I wouldn't go there again....view from the room was of a brick wall....bed was uncomfortable, not enough cooking utensils....seeing it was an old woolstore, the corridors were cold and not a pleasant look....looked like animal pens...car parking system was a nightmare.

Noisy rooms facing the freewayPosted Aug 4, 2014
We were looking for a hotel close to Darling harbour when we booked this one, whilst the rooms themselves are fairly large and clean, we had one facing the free-way, was so noisy we could not sleep at all, when asked to move the next day we had to pack our luggage leave the room and wait till 2 pm next day to be shifted, will not be staying here again

Great location.Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: Location, pool, sauna, spa.
Cons: Rooms need updating.
Location: Darling Harbour, Chinatown, Paddy's Markets, Pyrmont, Luna Park, CBD.
The hotel is in a great location within easy walking distance of the CBD, Pyrmont, markets and ferries, with Darling Harbour just across the road and through a walkway. The hotel rooms are a bit tired looking and could do with an update. There is a lap pool, spa, sauna and gym which we enjoyed using. I would stay there again next time we visit Sydney

Great location, helpful staffPosted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: The architecture and the location
Cons: Internet could be better/cheaper, elevators slow.
Location: Fish market ~5 min walk, Darling Harbour ~5min walk, CBD ~15-20 min walk, supermarket/convenience stores ~5 min walk
Interesting, retrofitted old building, was a bit drafty and cold, but the rooms were nice when the thermostat was turned up. Hotel staff exceptionally accommodating, helping with directions, printing and some other business. Elevators pretty slow, but card-only access for elevators and exterior doors adds extra security to building. There was some construction going on inside and outside the building, but nothing too disturbing. Easy walk to a lot of the interesting sights like Darling Harbor, the Fish Market, and restaurants. Internet ridiculously overpriced, $18 for a day of use!

In a good position, near Darling Harbour.Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: The staff were very friendly.
Cons: Get rid of those fence things around the rooms, they make the place look like an asylum!
Location: Great location.
When we first arrived at the hotel early they were very kind in getting us into our room early, but as soon as we got out of the lift and saw the walkway we started getting a bit wary, not nice at all, when we opened the door to our room we were very disappointed, two single beds, balcony looked out onto a very depressing wall, the timber log running through the room was dirty and dusty, my husband went to reception and asked to be moved and they very kindly did that for us, the second room was much better, but I have to say again the steel fence things in the corridors were horrible, really off putting, but the hotel is in a great spot, so close to beautiful Darling Harbour.

Another great stayPosted Jul 4, 2014
My second stay at the Oaks and again enjoyed my stay. Within walking distance of the CBD and so close to the shops at Darling Harbour. I love the oaks and would stay there again.
