Sydney Pier One

Posted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: The staff were very nice and helpful. The location might be one of its best features.
Cons: The shower leaked.
Location: We had a great time cruising the harbor. We also enjoyed going to the Blue Mountains and stopping at the wildlife park on the way.
We had a great experience at the Pier One hotel. The staff were very helpful in planning what we should do with our time in Sydney. The location of the hotel is just perfect to explore the harbor.

Superb sight and excellent hotel full of character

Posted Apr 10, 2014
Pros: Position near the Rocks and Ferry Terminal. General ambience and cleanliness.
Cons: Bath was very slow to fill with hot water. Used the shower instead.
Location: Location is first class near the Bridge and views of the Opera House. Within walking distance of Circular Quay for restaurants and ferries.
We stayed three nights and found room very comfortablle. There was a calming feel to the reception and bar area. Breakfast was first class.

White box

Our room was disappointing. I have stayed at some amazing hotels and expected to have more than a room with cream walls, white furniture and white linen. The only splash of colour was a pillow on the bed. Very bland!

BIRTHDAY

Posted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: Love the location, on the water & to relax out on the walk way.
Cons: No pets???? Walk in show....for people with hip/leg problems.
Location: Easy access to many places, around the cnr from Circular Quay, ferries, opera house and plenty more to do.
My sister and I have been coming each year to celebrate our uncles birthday and we do like the hotel and location (Waterside Room).

Over-rated

Pros: Staff were very helpful.
After staying at many places around Sydney over the years we were disappointed with Pier One. The hallways and rooms smelt damp. The room was super small (Even after the upgrade that we paid extra for). The outlook of the harbour was weird as the outside door to the "juliet balcony" was tiny since it's a heritage building and it doesn't allow them to make the doors wider. If it was CONSIDERABLY cheaper, it would all be acceptable, but every move you made from checkin, parking, wifi, to food, was SUPER expensive for what you got. Sure you're right by The Rocks & Harbour Bridge, but you cannot see it... I'd definitely stay somewhere else next time...

Superb position under the bridge. Easy walk to Circular Quay (15 mins) and going the other way to Darling Harbour (30 mins). Excellent breakfast buffet.

Great position, substandard room.

Pros: Great position.
Very disappointed. The room was tired with scratched cabinets, cracked tiles in the bathroom and a very odd and loud toilet. I felt the staff to be indifferent.

Sydney, great location

Posted Mar 7, 2014
Pros: Comfort, staff, early room availability, late check-out.
Cons: Can't think of anything
Location: Excellent location for Sydney Theatre(Pier 4), The Rocks, Opera House and ferries to Manly etc.
Our room was available at 10 am which was great ( normal check-in is 2pm). Check-in was efficient and pleasant. Room was water view on third floor - small but very comfortable room. Very clean. Bath and shower over. Good towels and robes. In-room wi-if costs an irritating 20 dollars Australian. Check out is 11am which is great. If you don't include breakfast, you can got down to Circular Quay at 9.30 to eat brekkie while people watching and back in time to brush up before check-out - excellent.
