Nice location

Posted Mar 30, 2014
This was a very interesting hotel. Since we stayed in a cottage we were able to drive our car to the cottage door. Guests staying in the hotel have to use the shuttle provided by the hotel. The cottage wad very spacious and bathrooms were renovated. The cottage could have been cleaner in the bathrooms. We had two bathrooms but one of the toilets was located in a WC just outside the back door. The front porch had a nice view of the city lights across the harbour and space on porch to sit and look at on the lights. As this is a historical cottage there is no AC. All the rooms have fans but at the height of summer it could be warm in the cottage. The kitchen had fridge and equipped with basics so you could cook meals if you wanted to in the cottage. We enjoyed our step and it was a neat place to stay at least once.

Quiet clean and relaxing

Posted Mar 5, 2014
Pros: The amazing view and the breakfast was awesome. We really enjoyed a rainy afternoon playing pool whilst looking at the view of Sydney harbour & CBD
Cons: We found there were not enough power outlets in the room. Provide shuttle service to manly for guests.
Location: Swim at the beach, Sight see in Manly, Manly Aquarium, hop a ferry to Sydney CBD, do a harbour tour by boat. Do a ghost tour at motel.
The motel is about 8km from Manly. The Motel should provide a shuttle bus to Manly as it cost us $10 each time we wanted to go into Manly.

Great accommodation and location...

Posted Jan 13, 2014
Pros: The beautiful location
Cons: There should be more customer service people around to assist or take questions
Location: Manly - manly corso
Power went down for half of the stay. Restaurant inaccessible because of power loss. There needs to be more eating facilities available as cabs can be pricey to keep travelling to and from manly

Worst hotel experience we've ever had.

Posted Jan 9, 2014
Pros: A staff member by the name of David was very nice.
Cons: While keeping with the heritage of Q Station, The small details of the hotel are overlooked. making our stay well... not enjoyable. We left.
Location: We came all the way from Seattle, We were completely surprised at the state of hotel and its location. I've booked many many trip over the internet.
We were lead to believe you could walk to Manly. you can't. Nor can you drive your car to your room, the shuttle buses provided supposedly every 10 minutes, never come around. We were also told our bathroom was separate down the hall, which was one thing, but it was down the outside porch. My husband and I went to the bathroom on the 1st. night only to find a strange man standing there in only his shorts. We did not feel comfortable having either of our 2 teenage daughters going to the bathroom alone at night after that. Our room had a view of the next buildings roof top and that is all we could see. We were moved for 3 nights to a larger room with an attached bathroom. This room was filthy dirty. Black dirt around all the outlets, grime, dirt and grease in the corners of the horrible lenolium kitchen floors. no kitchen utensils, no not one. no plates, silverware, glasses absolutely nothing. One of the doors to the outside was crudely nailed shut. looked like a freak show. No pictures on the walls, nothing at all nice about this place. We did eat dinner at the Boiler house one evening, although the waitstaff was nice, the food was over cooked and tough. there was no internet either. We checked out after 4 nights, None of the staff asked if we were unhappy or why we were leaving. There was a very nice boy working the office by the name of David. I believe he tried very hard to do the best he could. I have nothing nice to say about Q Sta

Great Location

Posted Jan 8, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel and location were great, but the staff seemed young and inexperienced.,The shuttle bus was annoying and we waited one time 30 min for it to arrive, lack of comunication made this worse. All they hade to do was let us know about the delay but no one did. Simple things like kettle in room had no lead,we asked for one which took over an hour to arrive,by that time we were in bed, they still knocked on door and woke us up. We did,nt take lead then but no one returned the next day to bring it. When you paid the nightly rate we did the service needs to be much better. The breakfast was great and lots of choice, with a nice view to go with it.

Stunning, but subpar service

Posted Jan 8, 2014 on Hotels.com
Absolutely stunning setting and hats off that this is not some chain resort. It's a really different experience. Rooms were basic but very clean. I quite liked the separate bathroom. However , service was not great for price. The resort lost power all evening while we were there and there was absolutely no apology at checkout. Not sure I'd go back.
