Beautiful location and facilities.

Posted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: The location. Views from every room yet close to Manly and the City.
Cons: Little short staffed at reception checking in and out both times we stayed. Maybe have back up staff on call to help with queues. Staff attentive.
Location: We had lunch down at the beach Cafe. Beautiful spot. Breakfast at the Cafe in National Park. Views are spectacular wherever you go.
We have stayed here previously. The location is brilliant, views to the harbour, city and out to sea are uninterrupted. Room was furnished and styled very comfortably. Our room was large, with a separate dressing room and sitting room. Bathroom was across the hall and we really thought this would be a difficult but it was not, the size and natural light more than compensated for the separation. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The large complex takes a couple of days to explore. It is an excellent spot for walking, taking in views from every vantage point or to get around quicker we caught the courtesy bus. Coffee down by the private beach and ferry wharf was a relaxing stop on our walk around. All-over we would rate our stay as excellent.

An unexpected delight!

I wasn't sure what I was expecting as we approached the reserve but was met by very friendly staff who guided me to the shuttle bus which took me to my room. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was a real pleasure. What was so amazing were the views, over the water and across to the city and down to Manly. The Quarantine Station was an extremely interesting piece of history and it was well worth taking in the Visitors' Centre as well as walking around the grounds. The restoration of the whole site has been done carefully and sympathetically so that a guest is comfortable and feels well looked after, but gets a real sense of staying in a piece of Australian history. I loved it!

Pros: the view from the hotel was lovely
Location: great location and central
Stayed for a conference and would not recommend. chipped and cracked tiles in the bathroom, timber walls meant that we could hear everything happening around us. our bedhead had a thin timber wall separating it from the female bathroom. we had to wait up to 15 minutes in the cold windy weather for a bus to pick us up and take us to the front office every time. Staff where mixed, some lovely some rude. we could hear clearly people walking past our room at three in the morning, as the timber balcony was so noisy. eggs for breakfast must have been made from powder as they sure tasted like it.

Not the same old, same old...

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: I liked the reception staff, the room, the grounds, the vistas, and the historical charm.
Cons: Room cleaning could be more consistent in its attention to detail.
Location: Ghost walks are probably interesting here but it's not close to anything off site in Manly.
A very unique experience with pleasing vistas and loads of historical charm. I didn't see the ghosts but there was an air of mystery about the grounds which offered a full day of exploration on there own. Its isolation from Manly loses it's charm after a couple of days, especially when relying on inconsistent service from the resort busses to get to the top of the long hill separating the accommodations from reception and public bus stop. Add on another $25 a day for return taxis into Manly. Staff were friendly, and provided excellent service. Mike was especially great, and he made an excellent call by pointing me toward the 4 Pines microbrewery and pub in Manly. Cleaning staff were inconsistent but found their stride toward the end of my stay. The hotel restaurant 'The Boiler House' served an exceptional meal but the serving staff were definitely taxed by a large party and it showed in the service to my table - though to be fair our server was pleasant and worked hard. It's not the same old, same old boutique hotel and is worth a stay.

Lovely stay - alone or with friends

Posted Jun 21, 2014
Pros: People, serenity, comfort and food quality
Cons: It is good the way it is.
Location: Nice location, off the busy Sydney traffic and city. Lovely for nature lovers. Things to do would be reading, walking, cycling, etc.
Very neat, serene and great for nature lovers. Well accessible to Manly beach through ferry. Staff is very friendly and informed. Rooms are spacious, good comfort and well maintained. I stayed only for one night, so won't speak much about room service. But whatever I got to avail, was very nice. I would recommend this place for a nice individual, family or a holiday with friends.

A Different Experience close to the city

Posted Jun 11, 2014
We loved our stay at QStation! You felt like you were away from it all but in the city. You also got to learn a bit of history from Sydney's past and to my daughters delight go on a ghost tour! The beach and surrounds are beautiful and everything is in easy walking distance and there is always a mini bus if you don't feel like walking. We dined at the Boilerhouse which was lovely. We were in a room with the Bathroom outside which was a minimal inconvenience. Both the room and bathroom were clean and nice and warm in winter. The bed was very comfortable! Definitely recommend to anyone who likes a bit of adventure, history or just a comfortable alternate place to stay!

Relaxing week away

Posted Jun 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
The accommodation was excellent. Staff very friendly. Close to the city with the comforts of the bush. Only disappointment was the quality of the food. Didn't enjoy restaurant, cafe or room service food. Overall excellent week away.
