Trip to the ZOO

Posted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: staying in a part of History
Cons: Driver service very slow
Location: walk, sightseeing
We wanted local accommodation. It was too far from facilities for us but I just didn't realise the terrain. The resort looked wonderful and room lovely. We did have time to appreciate it. It was far too cold to be outside.

Cold in winter

Posted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: Views
Cons: Nothing really. I would advise people to be selective what time of year they stayed here.
Would be brilliant any time other than winter. Having to use the mini bus to get to the rooms in pouring rain was a pain.

Location.! Location! Unique Sydney Perspective

Posted Jun 2, 2015
Pros: Its location and friendliness of staff. It offers more than just a hotel room. It offers access to Sydney's unique North Head and an historical site.
Cons: We will have to go back and investigate this question.
Location: North Head. Unique Harbour views. The old Quarantine Station. Bush walks. Close proximity to Manly for restaurants, beach and the Manly Ferry.
This was our first visit to The Q Station. My brother had recommended the hotel. It was an absolute surprise when we realised that we were actually staying on Sydney's North Head and that our hotel though appearing to be bush surrounded and isolated was in fact only 5 minutes from the heart of Manly. The room was comfortable and supplied with all our needs and being in Building P12, breakfast was served in the adjoining building. Very convenient and incidentally the buffet breakfast was excellent and complemented by views across the Harbour. We intend to explore the history of the Q Station during our next stay. Thoroughly recommended.

Fabulous location, steeped in history

Posted Apr 26, 2015 on Wotif
Loved our overnight stay. Friendly efficient service. Fabulous location. Great way to create a comfortable stay in old surroundings withou messing with the heritage character. Website pix for the suite were a bit misleading, the extra room didn't have sofa, only a desk. As such a little pricey, but worth it for a unique stay.

Supreme therapy

Posted Apr 13, 2015 on Wotif
Pros: The charm of the rooms. The breakfast is enjoyable and the restaurant is something special.
Cons: The transit vehicles should ALL be electric. It would be more consistent with the theme & style of the place.
Location: It's the best place to stay in Manly. You have access to all the shopping dining & other facilities but sadly not a Cinema any more.
The experience is magical. The location is fabulous. Part of the charm is the history of the place but it is also such a relief from the intense pace & noise of Sydney.

Wonderful experience

Posted Mar 23, 2015
It was wonderful to stay at accommodation that is so different to where we would normally stay. We stayed in a Heritage Suite meaning our private bathroom facilities were separate to our room. If we stayed again, we would stay in a room with the bathroom in the room, as it was quite annoying unlocking 2 doors to get into our bathroom and when the children were having a bath, they weren't right there with us. Amazing views of the harbour and lovely facilities. The shuttle bus does a great job picking up guests quite promptly. The Boilerhouse Restaurant is fantastic and the private beach was amazing with no waves! There is so much history and our 9 year old boy really enjoyed learning about the early settlers of Australia.

Great location with a difference.

We love this location. We've stayed twice now. It's quiet, with incredible views of the harbour, private beach, lots of history, a great restaurant and cafe on site and only a $10 cab ride to Manly with more beaches and heaps of restaurants, cafes, clubs and other activities.

Lovely location, quirky hotel.

Beautiful location close to Manly. We had a suite set up for 3 adults. The main bedroom contained a double bed and a wash basin (only). The other bedroom was clearly designed as a lounge with a sofa bed which was not very comfortable. The connecting room had a desk but no power point. Bathroom and toilet were in a separate adjacent building. We were charged for 2 rooms. Value for money questionable.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this very valuable feedback we strive to exceed our guest’s expectations and really appreciate you taking the time to provide such valuable feedback. A few rooms on site replicate the original experience of those in Quarantine, and utilise luxury private bathrooms which are a few steps from their room. On booking guests have the option to stay in these rooms or not. Most of our rooms have ensuites. Kind Regards, Zac Hope General Manager Q Station - Manly

Pros: A wonderful place to stay -- we'll go again, with the family.
Location: Away from it all, Australia
Value: Upgraded room to cottage; Service: Go the extra mile, FriendlyMinibuses on call; It's a "ghost town" that's been brought back to life.
