Overall goodPosted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: scenery, whole experience
Cons: shuttle bus
Location: If active there are heaps of walks to take. The beach is lovely and safe for kids
This was a lovely place to stay, however the shuttle bus let the place down. It wasn't reliable enough. We had to wait 30 minutes for the bus to take us up to the carpark and we were late for a wedding. We arrive after the bride. It turned out ok, just left a bitter taste in our mouths. Luckily we stayed an extra day and the hotel redeemed itself. We had a beautiful meal at the Boilerhouse. Best tasting steak ever!

Terrific retreat away from it allPosted Mar 3, 2015
Pros: The comfort and quiet but with shops and nightlife just a few minutes away.
Location: Location has peace and quite with stunning water views. Has its own quiet little beach but is close to Manly Beach and shopping precinct.
We had stayed here before and loved the place. Only had one night this time and would have loved to stay longer. The place is historically interesting with plenty to see and do. The breakfast is to die for. There is a little beach which is great for kids. The ghost tour is a must.

Unusual but authentic,Posted Mar 2, 2015
Cons: Air conditioning in rooms.
Location: Walk around, eat on the site or go into town.
This is a very unusual hotel because you are in rooms that housed quarantine patients for many years. It's a big site and no cars allowed but there is a free shuttle. You are quite some way from town though, but there is a bus. Still this location is best suited to those with a car. Room was authentic but rather small and the only window was in the narrow doors. No a/c, just a very noisy ceiling fan and the room was very hot at night. Yes,I know it has to stay in character but there is a TV, kettle and fridge! Oh, and a toaster, but no plates or cutlery. Great views of the city across the bay. Lots of wildlife also.

Great surprise in a fantastic location.Posted Feb 13, 2015
Cons: Air conditioning in the rooms
This hotel is in a beautiful setting with fantastic views over the harbour. The rooms are very comfortable and I wish I had been staying more than just overnight. Great place to stay with older (school going) kids, who will appreciate the night fauna.

Pros: The location and the views.
Location: It's in a national park and only 5 minutes from Manly - the best of both worlds.
We only stayed for one night and wish we had longer to explore Q Station and the surrounding area.

Pros: The location
Cons: Some other person running the breakfast café
Location: Loved the location, the views, the isolation, the bush.
I was lucky to stay on a night when the weather was mild and I slept comfortably with the doors shut however had it been hot I would have to choose between roasting in privacy or opening the doors for fresh air and having no privacy and possibly mosquitoes The staff were all charming and helpful with the exception of the woman who runs the breakfast.

Authentic Australian ExperiencePosted Feb 2, 2015
Ideally situated to enjoy Sydney and Manly with lovely views. Peaceful base. Can be accessed easily by public transport. Within walking distance to Little Manly Beach which is perfect for families with young children. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at the Q Station from the moment you arrive until you leave!

Hotel in National Park, close to manly.Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: Views, private beach, history of Q station
Cons: Some salads at breakfast. Shuttle bus was slow at times to come.
Location: Manly beach and walk to spit bridge.
Sometimes the room service was done to early, and my room missed out. Bins were full and needed emptying. The view was amazing , I would like windows with fresh air in rooms.
