Right in the heart of the action at The Rocks.Posted Nov 28, 2013
Pros: Location was convenient.
Location: Great location in The Rocks, plenty of good dining venues close by and a great view of Sydney Harbour.
Staff were friendly upon a late check-in.

nice view, poor servicePosted Nov 28, 2013
Cons: customer service
Major problem conversing with staff and obtaining a resolve re complaints! Nobody willing to take responsibility or action. Once complaint was addressed (hours later) there was another hour wait on obtaining new hotel room keys! Room was clean but grubby around switches. Bed & Pillows very comfy. A very disappointing experience overall & for all the headaches I will never return to the Shangri-La again.

Nice Hotel in a great locationPosted Nov 27, 2013
Pros: The staff where excellent
Cons: I feel the room I had was a bit expensive for what it was. The prices for drinks, etc in the mini bar are to expensive. You need a real bar in buildin

Nice hotelPosted Nov 25, 2013
Overall the hotel is quite comfortable, I love the breakfast buffle, the only flaw was the hair dryer, it did not work well, has burning smell came out after just about 30 seconds.

Used to line in Sydney and visited many times and been to many of the best hotels. Shangri la was a notch above in service particularly at reception. The corner room too was exceptional with tremendous panoramic view and good size. Only weakness was gym/pool that felt a bit dated and tired .

No complaintes, Excellent servicePosted Nov 3, 2013
Pros: They took good care of me.
Cons: not really. The ceiling above the pool needs to be redone.
Location: its a 2min walk to circular quay.
3 day stay. 5 star service all the way. The most painless checkin process ever. I was wished from my taxi to the room in no time and all the luggage taken care of. Room was speasious and very comfortable. The turndown service was most welcome. Copious supply of water bottles to quench thirst after long days out enjoying the city. My only downside was the steep slope from George Street, which was fine for me but might bother some. Location was fantastic

Wonderful hotel, but----Posted Oct 29, 2013
Pros: Location, room standards, staff
Cons: See comments above - enforce dress rules, it's not a western suburbs pub.
Beautiful views from a great room on Horizon Club floor. Fantastic staff in the Club lounge, but let down by management not enforcing the displayed dress code. Most guests acknowledged where they were and dressed and behaved accordingly, Let down and in some observed cases inconvenienced by people dressed as if they were at the beach or labouring, and invariably behaved accordingly. Enforce your standards - the majority of guests would applaud.

Pros: Great locations and views from the higher floors.
Location: Most of the major sites are a very short walk.
We stepped up for the executive grand view and really enjoyed it. We were on the 26th floor looking out directly on the harbor bridge and opera house. It was expensive but worth it for a splurge or special occasion. The room itself was in pretty good condition and very clean. Location was pretty good for tourists visiting the major sites. The rocks were a very short walk. Some of the other reviews complain about the hill. It is a steep 3 or 4 blocks up, but not that bad. Hotel staff members were all very helpful and professional. We went up to the Blu Bar on the top floor for drinks one night. The views were very nice from up there as well and they had some interesting cocktails on their menu. One pretty minor complaint-the jets in the hotbub by the pool did not seem to be working while we were there, just the bubbles. Overall it was a great stay.
