ImpressivePosted Jan 18, 2015
Pros: Service, pool, huge marble bathroom
Cons: all perfect
Location: The whole of Sydney! We caught a ferry to Darling Harbour, walked to the Opera House, movies at Opera Dendy, walked to commercial CBD to buy clothes,
I loved every part of our stay at Sir Stamford....the staff and other guests were perfect and with two young children with us, nothing was a problem. The interior was beautiful with antiques in the form of furniture, ceramic collections in glass cabinets and light fittings....incredible chandeliers. The pool was roof top with views from the incredible location at Circular Quay and opposite The Domain Gardens.

4 days in Sydney in JanuaryPosted Jan 16, 2015
Pros: The size of the room and the central location were definitely the best parts. Friendly, helpful staff also added to the experience.
Cons: The card-scanning system in the lifts is not efficient. Very comfortable, but not 5-star compared to other properties. Need a folder of info. in room.
Location: Location is amazing - right in the Quay and easy to get to the train station, ferries, into town, bus terminal etc.
My family enjoyed 4 days in Sydney after a cruise in January and found the Sir Stamford to be very convenient because of it's location. My children had not been to Sydney before, so we were keen to fit in as much as we could in the time we had. We did not have a car and didn't need one. We were able to walk to most places and used services such as the hop-on-hop-off busses for others. We had a room with a King and a Double bed - the room was HUGE! It had a desk and chair, a small sitting area and a large bathroom. It was very comfortable and clean. Nothing modern about this hotel, but we weren't expecting it to be. Kids used the pool which is small but clean and refreshing on a hot day!

A hidden gem in a brilliant location!Posted Jan 16, 2015
Pros: The location!
Cons: It was all positive - the hotel should retain its atmosphere and old-world English charm.
Location: The Botanic Gardens, Circular Quay and Opera House are all at your door step!
A very clean and comfortable hotel in a fantastic location. The rooms are tastefully decorated and extremely spacious! Staff at Sir Stamford were very friendly and helpful, and the Sydney High Tea experience was a highlight.

Great place, pity about the breakfastPosted Dec 29, 2014
Pros: rooms very clean, hotel well situated for our needs
Cons: see above re: breakfast
Location: location was close to the Rocks, Circular Quay and the Botanic Gardens
Overall, really enjoyed our stay at the Sir Stamford, only to have it spoiled a little by the disorganized staff in the dinning room. Waited 15 minutes to order breakfast, only to have the one person take the orders from five tables before putting any into the kitchen. There didn't seem to be a plan, staff promised things but didn't deliver and some tables that demanded constant service received it before others got any attention. In the end took 35 minutes before we got our breakfast!

Beautiful and Elegant Hotel in Circular QuayPosted Dec 28, 2014
Pros: Very spacious and great location for everything at Circular Quay with a short walk to shopping malls
Unfortunately only got to stay one night, but room was extremely comfortable, bathroom was enormous and location was perfect. Caught the train from the airport, and it was a 5 minute walk to the Hotel from the Circular Quay train station; Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sydney.

Location, Location, LocationPosted Dec 13, 2014
Pros: Location in particular as it really suits those wanting to just spend time in the City.
Our second visit this year for overnight stays prior to boarding a cruise ship. The position is ideal for a leisurely walk down to the passenger terminal. It is equally well placed for Circular Quay dining venues - all within a short stroll. The hotel meets all our criteria for a good hotel stay - view from balcony, iron & ironing board, large rooms, nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
