“Best possible location for a hotel in Sydney!”

Best possible location for a hotel in Sydney! Equally close to everthing Sydney has to offer. Easy access to mass transit. Beatiful view of Hyde Park. Would stay there again. Down side, buffet breakfast is way over priced for what is provided. Good food, just way to expensive. Hot tub was murkier than I thought it should be.

Area recommendations

Don't limit yourself to just one part of Sydney! See it all!

When to go

Barring another rainy season Dec-Mar is the warmest. Their Summer starts on December 1st not the traditional 21st.

Getting around

Highly recommended to get a Transit Pass for the entire time you are in Sydney. It may seem expensive at first but pays for itself in no time! The Monorail was nothing special.

Must see

The Opera House inside and out and from the water side too! Day and night.

Shopping

Must see the Queen Vistoria building. Must. Think Rodeo Drive in one building for the ground floor and up. Think any first class US mall for the floors making up the basement. Went there three times to catch it all. Bondi Junction & Blacktown for a great shopping time too.

Outdoors or beach

Bondi Beach is as wonderful as you can imagine. Easy access by bus.

“Great hotel experience”

We were very impressed with Sydney Marriott from the time we checked in at 6 am and they immediately got us into our room (we have found that very seldom in Europe or the states for that fact). The room was large and spacious with a nice view of Hyde Park. We did not eat at the hotel (too busy walking the town) but the rooftop pool is awesome with one of the best city views we have ever seen...and the pool was heated in off season. The hotel is about a 30 min. walk from the harbour, but it is a nice scenic walk if you're up for it. We would definitely stay here again!

“Excellent hotel in convenient location”

Hotel was comfortable and conveniently located in the downtown area. The fitness area was well equipped and the rooftop pool had a great view of the city. The room was spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again if traveling to Sydney.

Area recommendations

Both Darling harbour and Circular Quay are great tourist hubs. We also loved Manley where we played on the beach and rented bicycles. We had three children who all had a great time.

When to go

Sydney is expensive at any time, but we traveled in the winter (August) and it was great. The hotel rates were lower, tours were not filled and there were no lines for restaurants. The weather for us was sunny and 65 degrees every day. The kids were able to participate in and enjoy all the activities the city had to offer. We did spend a day in the Blue Mountains and the weather was perfect with a light jacket.

Getting around

Upon arrival at the airport, the public transport attendent recommended the 7-day transportation pass. We purchased on for me and my wife and the children's pass covered all 3 kids with a single pass. The pass covered all buses, trains and ferries and only cost $41/adult for the week. It was a spectacular deal because we had essentially all transport covered for the week for 5 people for about $100.

“Good place”

“Sydney was spectacular!!!”

My wife and I had a remarkable stay in Sydney. The Marriott was excellent. We were greeted promptly and when checking in we were moved up to a larger room with more ammenities. Throughout our stay we were always greeted with a smile and asked if there was anything they could do for us. Bravo to Marriott on College Street.

Darling Harbor and the Sydney Opera House.. They offer great entertainment and a memory that will remai with you forever.

“Conveniently located to most tourist attractions.”

Towels need to be replaced. Shower curtain doesn't smell right. Mildew maybe? Breakfat buffet is great and staff are very friendly. Front desk staff are great.
