Great location in art deco building

Posted Feb 26, 2015
Pros: Location, atmosphere, amenities.
Cons: Decoration just a little tired.
Location: Very central and close to the iconic Victoria building and the city centre shopping. Also good business location.
Wonderful atmospheric period building with very large well appointed rooms and an Irish pub in the same building! Right in the centre of the city and close to the Victoria Building, ideal for business or as a tourist venue.

Useful, nothing fancy

Posted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: Internet.
Cons: Comfortable waiting areas.
The hotel has a nice location, the room was comfortable. The only real problem I encountered was that they don't have facilities to accomodate your waiting time while your room is getting ready.

no emotion or compassion

I confirmed I would be arriving late as my husband was having extreme chemo and only had one day to spend with him. I arrived approx 8.30pm maybe later. I got told my booking was for the next night. There was a room but I would have to pay more i explained I could not afford. I was told no refund and spent the night on a couch in the lobby at st Vincent's hospital with my luggage. It was very scary.

Rest in the history

Posted Feb 12, 2015
Location: Good location for sightseeing and covenient cause you have two tram stops close by and subway station right underneath.
The hotel was built in 1883 in front of the Parliament Building and it maintains its class. As you step into the lobby you're welcomed by warm classical atmosphere. Staffs also recieves you nicely. Room was spacious, high ceiling and nicely decorated. It was so big that it was like an exercise going back and forth unpacking suitcase at one end and using bath-room at the other end. You do hear some squeaks from above floor when someone walking and aircondition bit noisey. Bar and Restaurant are good too. If you like classical hotel its wonderful. If you want modern office like hotel then your impression might be different.

Nice Hotel in Central Area

Posted Feb 10, 2015
Hotel was quite nice. Lobby was impressive. Frankly, I did not spend a lot of time in the hotel. Staff was very helpful in arranging little things. The only slight negative is it was a little farther to the Quay than I would have liked and had the weather been either too hot or rainy I would have found this inconvenient (for a business traveler). The reverse of this was that since the weather was nice only about a 10 to 15 minute walk to my meeting in Darling Bay. Room was modern and clean. Bed comfortable.

Pros: location and cleanliness
Cons: Rates vary too much
Location: Handy to Wynyard station and Circular Quay. Plenty of shops.
Wonderful hotel clean and excellent service from all staff. Nicely furnished and we would certainly stay here again In fact have stayed twice now in last three weeks. Breakfasts are wonderful too
