In the heart of old Sydney 1 block from Circular Quay and metro. and beautiful Sydney Harbor. 15 mintes by metro ftom airport Incredibly near Harbour Bridge, Opera House and Botanic Gardens and walking distance to lots if restaurants. Expensive but consistent with Australia costs. Great comfy beds. Small hotel.

Great valuePosted Oct 9, 2014
If you're willing to share a bathroom (no issue for us) this hotel is great. Very central - old fashioned but very roomy accomodations, friendly staff. And the provided breakfast is delicious.

Close to everything around the HarbourPosted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: Loved the location and the staff
Cons: A bit more thought to how people will 'fit' into the small rooms with all their gear would be good. Quite expensive but I guess it's the location.
Location: 5mins walk from the waterfront of Sydney Harbour and views of the bridge, the opera house and so on.
A wonderful location and a lovely hotel. The staff couldn't have been more lovely and welcoming. Our room was a bit squishy, no where to put our bags but on the floor where they were a bit in the way, and the kettle in the bathroom then because the bags covered the powerpoint, lol. But none of that really mattered as the decor and location were all wonderful.

Hotel is in an excellent location in SydneyPosted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: The hotel's location was great and the staff were pleasant.
Cons: Ensure beds are comfortable and reasonably modern.
Arrival at the hotel was good and the check in staff were good. Getting luggage around the hotel is a problem as it is a rabbit warren with lots of stairs. The room was clean and adequate however the cast iron bed had a decided bow in the frame and as a result the mattress sagged in the center. It was difficult to get a good nights sleep because of noise and people slamming doors and hotel trades people early in the morning.

Small hotel, but close to everything Sydney!Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: Great location, much is within walking distance, if you to venture further, the ferries and trains are right there!
Cons: Free breakfast needed more options, especially hot foods, as the only cooked option was hard boiled eggs, or toast. Layout is a bit confusing as well.
Location: Close to the bridge, The Rocks, the ferries, the opera house, the CBD, and a really good restaurant, Pancakes on the Rocks, which never closes.
Arrived early but room was ready, staff were extremely helpful, assisted us with our luggage and walked us to our room and showed us the amenities. Hotel does have a lift, but if your room is not all the way in the back corner, you have to go up and down a short flight of stairs. Do note, the hotel entrance is in the back of the building, not on the street as that is door for the bar.

Clean and close to The RocksPosted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: Helpful staff, great location and comfortable room.
Helpful staff - allowed me to check in very early as room was already cleaned. Also offered me an umbrella for the day which proved to be very useful and thoughtful. Nice clean little room with comfy bed.

Great location!Posted Aug 24, 2014
If you want to be at the heart of old Sydney, this is the hotel for you. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. We stayed in the large ensuite room, which looked out onto circular quay and was very comfortable for the three of us. The hotel has a lift but there are stairs to be negotiated whichever way you go due to the age and layout of the building. The breakfasts were good and plentiful. Out of the hotel you are straight into "The Rocks" area and there is a great free evening tour at 6pm from Cadmans Cottage which takes you through the area giving you its history and amusing stories.

Fantastic location in SydneyPosted Jul 19, 2014
Location: A few steps from circular quay and at The Rocks district it was a great location to base yourself for exploring Sydney. Close to tons of restaurants.
This hotel is friendly and old fashioned a bit fawlty towers! If you want franchise straight lines and no personality this is not for you but if you like a bit of quirky and interesting then perfect! I thought it was a super location for getting to see Sydney and be at the heart of the city.

Good hotel, Great locationPosted Jul 8, 2014
Positives Location - Right in the thick of where you want to be for city sightseeing, particularly when on a tight timescale like we were. Staff - Very helpful and accommodating. I broke my leg immediately prior to our stay and the staff were extremely helpful in rearranging things to allow us to move to an en-suite with a disabled toilet. Cleanliness - Hotel very clean and tidy Negatives Only one small negative - noise from the bar below on our first night. We were knackered from a late night the eveing before so wasn't a big deal but reckon I would have struggled to sleep if I wasn't exhausted.

amazing views over MCA and the rocks. Lovely!Posted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: Everything- location, non-big hotel feel, smallness and character
Location: The rocks- ferries, opera house, bridge, everything
The room had real character, light and airy, high ceilings, lovely furnishings. We had a shared bathroom but all to ourselves as it was a monday. Great!
