Fantastic location in SydneyPosted Jul 19, 2014
Location: A few steps from circular quay and at The Rocks district it was a great location to base yourself for exploring Sydney. Close to tons of restaurants.
This hotel is friendly and old fashioned a bit fawlty towers! If you want franchise straight lines and no personality this is not for you but if you like a bit of quirky and interesting then perfect! I thought it was a super location for getting to see Sydney and be at the heart of the city.

Good hotel, Great locationPosted Jul 8, 2014
Positives Location - Right in the thick of where you want to be for city sightseeing, particularly when on a tight timescale like we were. Staff - Very helpful and accommodating. I broke my leg immediately prior to our stay and the staff were extremely helpful in rearranging things to allow us to move to an en-suite with a disabled toilet. Cleanliness - Hotel very clean and tidy Negatives Only one small negative - noise from the bar below on our first night. We were knackered from a late night the eveing before so wasn't a big deal but reckon I would have struggled to sleep if I wasn't exhausted.

amazing views over MCA and the rocks. Lovely!Posted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: Everything- location, non-big hotel feel, smallness and character
Location: The rocks- ferries, opera house, bridge, everything
The room had real character, light and airy, high ceilings, lovely furnishings. We had a shared bathroom but all to ourselves as it was a monday. Great!

Amazing location, best secret!Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: The rooms with ensuite, the little terrace we share between the 2 rooms we had, the continental breakfast and the location
Cons: The bed is old and noisy
Location: Is the best to be walking distance of everything at Circular Quay
We stayed there for 1 night, I wish it was more. Its really comfortable, cozy, the description is perfect, its a great boutique hotel in the best location!

Perfect locationPosted Jun 4, 2014
Pros: Location and charming building
We had a wonderful overnight stay at The Russell. After hopping off a long flight we caught a train from the airport to circular quay. When we got off the train we were greeted with the beautiful lights of the vivid light festival. We then took a short stroll (less than 5 min) and we were at the hotel. It did not disappoint. The building is gorgeous and full of character as was our room. Staff were lovely and we will definitely stay again if in Sydney.

Convenient & cleanPosted May 15, 2014
The location is very convenient. It's accessible by trains, busses and ferries. The Sydney Opera and the Rocks are within walkable distance. The area is very lively even at night. The room and facilities are very clean. The bathrooms were well maintained and cleaned periodically so sharing was absolutely no issue. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place!

Great location, minimalist roomPosted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location.
We did okay at this hotel but would not recommend it to those who enjoy more creature comforts. Room was small but clean. We ordered ensuite & were given the handicap accessible bathroom. The shower was just a showerhead on the wall. Thus the entire floor was soaked after a shower. Not much space for clothes. Hotel staff was very pleasant & courteous and the breakfast was very nice. However the restaurants attached to the hotel were not very accommodating. Room had a menu that listed wine. ( $25-35) but when I called to order it they only had $60 bottles. Tried to have an early dinner in the Fortune of War restaurant & ended leaving after no one waited on us. Looks like a great pub if you are into pubs. Location is fabulous. It is very near Circular Quay & The Harbour bridge. George St. Has great shops.

LOVED this hotel!!!Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Everything! Great atmosphere, very quaint!
Loved everything about this hotel! Just don't compare it to American hotels... it has a European feel to it. Perfect location & staff was super, super friendly!!! Very reminicent of my favorite London hotel, Dorset Square.

Great locationPosted Feb 14, 2014
Pros: Hotel has great character. Great location.
Location: One of the best locations in Sydney. It's right on Circular Quay, so everything you want to do in Sydney is close by or rail and ferries is rt outside
I picked this hotel because of location. Everything you need is very close to the hotel; ferries, trains, restaurants, Sydney Harbour etc. it was everything I expected and I will stay there again.
