Location, Location, Location!

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: Awesome helpful staff and a location that cannot be beat.
Cons: No desk, marginally effective portable A/C, shower water temperature was all over the place.
Location: Everything you want to do in Sydney is steps away. Don't even think about renting a car, just buy the $62 everything / everywhere pass at the airport.
A beautiful historic hotel upgraded to somewhat modern standards. Nice basic breakfast is included with breads, yogurt, boiled eggs, cereals, etc. The location is great, we were just steps from Circular Quay, dozens of pubs and restaurants, the train, bus and ferry terminals, Harbour Bridge, Opera House, etc. I would stay here again on vacation but would try to get a room that had a desk, a little more open space and a better A/C if it was summer time (our room had a portable A/C that would shut off halfway through the night when the water condensate tank filled up. We were lucky that the weather was unseasonably cool, in normal summer hot weather it would have been very uncomfortable). If you want to stay in a historic hotel in the Rocks with a great staff, a connected historic pub right downstairs, and don't mind the little idiosyncrasies that go with an older property then this is a good choice... it's not the Marriott or Hilton though so don't go in with that sort of expectation.

Beste Lage in Sydney

Posted Nov 28, 2014

Excellent location near Curcular Quay, courteous staff who go the extra mile to ensure guests are comfortable, clean rooms with standard amenities, breakfast included and some nice extras (like a chocolate on you pillow at night!)

Great little hotel.

Pros: We had come off a cruise, docked early in the morning, wanted somewhere we could drop our bags off and explore Sydney.
Location: Anything you want to do on the harbour. Perfect for going on or returning from a cruise, central to the railway. excellent location.
Had a room with a shared bathroom, was a little wary for that reason. However, very clean and comfomfortable. Wanted something close to The Rocks, erfect for the one night. Breakfast was included, contintental only but still enjoyable.

Centrally located in an interesting part of Sydney

We were in town for a wedding and this hotel was very close to the church and reception. We had a comfortable and quiet room (30) at the back. Good shower and decent bed. Nice friendly staff. Good bar.

Great location

Pros: Great location within easy walking distance of Circular Quay and the Rocks. Easy atmosphere with helpful staff.
Cons: Limited power points in room and as the only one was at floor level we were on our hands and knees every time we used the kettle.
Location: Circular Quay; Harbour ferries; Opera House; Rocks market and cafes; and the harbour bridge.
Arrived at 1:30 in the morning and struggled to raise the night manager to get into the hotel. However, once we did the service was good and next day we were assured this was an unusual occurrence. With this behind us the rest of the stay was good but could have been better if our room (No. 8) had not faced into the adjacent narrow walkway and hence, we had received more natural light in the room.

In the heart of old Sydney 1 block from Circular Quay and metro. and beautiful Sydney Harbor. 15 mintes by metro ftom airport Incredibly near Harbour Bridge, Opera House and Botanic Gardens and walking distance to lots if restaurants. Expensive but consistent with Australia costs. Great comfy beds. Small hotel.

Great value

If you're willing to share a bathroom (no issue for us) this hotel is great. Very central - old fashioned but very roomy accomodations, friendly staff. And the provided breakfast is delicious.
