Average hotel, good location

Posted Oct 27, 2014
Right on the beach this hotel is in a great location; 10 minutes walk from the ferry stop and a few minutes walk to bars, restaurants and shops. The hotel's South tower is awkwardly located behind the North tower and also behind the rubbish stations of the hotel and the restaurant, making the walk to it a bit whiffy. The rubblsh stations are down an alley which despite being private, has a lot of traffic due to guest parking, staff parking and rubbish trucks, meaning you have to do some dodging as well. The room was average and unclean in some places (shower had someone else's hair in it, a glass shelf on eye level was extremely dusty, the glasses were dirty and cushions on the bed were also dirty). Our double bed was two singles pushed together making for an uncomfortable nights sleep. It definitely wasn't the worst hotel I hae ever stayed in but I feel it was overpriced.

Thank you for sharing your feedback from your recent stay and its great to hear that you enjoyed the location of the Hotel. It certainly is convenient to all that Manly has to offer. I was disappointed to hear that you found the South Tower awkward. The Tower is separated by a laneway however this is not a private access road but is a shared space between the two towers and provides access to a number of local residential apartments. Thank you for your feedback regarding our Housekeeping services and I apologise that this did not meet your expectations. I have shared this with our team as we usually receive such positive feedback. We look forward to an opportunity to welcome you back and feel sure you will notice the improvements. Kind regards Nikki Little, General Manager, The Sebel Manly Beach

Best holiday Ever.

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Cons: Wheelie bin pick up times outside our room were sometimes a little early..
Location: Beautiful location, heaps of attractions, like walks, beaches, cafes and the ferry over to Sydney
We had a wonderful holiday. Our room was warm and clean and relaxing and quiet as it was close to the beach but still far away enough if you wanted to stay inside for some peace and quiet.. All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful in every way. We would absolutely love to go back and stay at The Sebel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone else, thank you.

Reception staff

Posted Jul 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
Staff at reception were friendly but were not helpful. I was told I would be called when the room was ready, I wasn't. I rang at checkin time and was told the room still wasn't ready, they would call me, they didn't. Upon checkout I was informed there was a fee for parking our cars in your car park. I wasn't informed of this on checkout either. You waved the fee as a result of this.

Fine print

Posted Jul 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
Unfortunately I failed to read the fine print.....Our room was in the far tower, which to get to, we had to go through the restaurant, outside and past the loading bay into the other building. Our room had a view of a side street overlooking the underground car park entrance. I did think that as you pay a premium price for a beachfront hotel, I was under the impression that we would be beachside. Breakfast was included and yet again I presumed that this would be a buffet provided in the hotel restaurant....How silly I was...Instead we received a Mc Donalds style paper tray of cold goods to our room??? When I complained to the receptionist upon checkout, she said your feedback is important now that will be 5 dollars for your water bottle out of the mini bar. She clearly did not want to have a discussion or want to attempt to rectify the situation. I will never stay here again and with warn anybody I know not to, instead they should opt for a much cheaper backstreet stay and head to McDonalds for brekky!

Thank you for sharing your feeadback about your recent experience. The Hotel does consist of two towers and the superior studio rooms are located in South Tower. Whilst many of these rooms do not have an Ocean view they are lovely and quiet . South Tower does have its own entrance which is at the rear of the main Reception area and can be accessed via the Restaurant or from Ashburner Avenue just at the end of South Steyne. I will share your feedback regarding breakfast with our partner, Manly Wine as we are always looking for ways to improve our breakfast options. I apologise that our team did not meet your expectations and I am sure your feedback will assist us as we continue to improve our guest service.
