Do yourself a favour!Posted Nov 20, 2014
Cons: Just about everything
Step Right Up and Do Yourself a Favour! All you could want in this small, tired just above hostel style accommodation featuring an air-conditioner that blew hot air, stained floors/walls/tiles with an ambiance that falls just short of out-and-out depressing! This cosy little beauty has the charm of most prison cells but with the added protection of a door that lets you both in and out. Fortunately there is not enough room on the floor to open a large suitcase to extended stay! For some reason the market appears to be short of this style of accommodation in an ever shrinking, downsizing world. Your environmental footprint is so small it looks like a toe print, if you can find somewhere to stand at all. When I sent a photo (wide angle gopro to capture all its radiance) to my wife who wanted to know what is was like as she booked it for me, her response was - quote "That's awful!!" Seems she fails to see the charm in such trendy down sizing market. So hurry if you are looking for a bargain just above hostel style accommodation at near 3-4 star price as it surely (hopefully) it can not last forever! - Can do a lot better for the money I paid, but why would you?

they booked on the wrong day and charged me anywayPosted Nov 17, 2014
Cons: customer service and just basic booking skills
The hotel booked me in on a Friday night despite the fact that i made the booking for a Sunday night when i called up to let them know about the mistake I was told its too bad the booking is non refundable and I'll have to pay for the room in full for the Friday night horrible experience and arrogant staff who couldn't care less

location was goodPosted Nov 15, 2014
Room had musty smell, otherwise would have been comfortable. Included "continental" breakfast was tea/ coffee, cereal / toast only, does not sound continental to me, upgrade to eggs bacon etc was $6 extra per person, next time I'm in the area I will have something to compare to the next accomodation and pricing. TV reception intermittent.

Internet pictures are deceivingPosted Nov 10, 2014
Pros: The bed was comfortable
Cons: The room decor, cleanliness, made an update /renovation
Location: Westfield plaza, lots of shopping everywhere
Our room was on the fourth floor, down a dark hallway with random hotel clutter throughout. Our view was plants and trees. Couldn't tell what time of day it was cause we couldnt see out the window. Room was worn down and furniture looking haggard and broken. Certain Hotel front desk staff were unpleasant and you could tell they didn't want to be there or hated their jobs. Upon arrival , was informed we get free breakfast so the next day we head down and order something off the menu on the board , which is then charged to the room. As we check out I am thinking they will take it off, but no. The breads and cereals are included but nothing else which no one told us upon checking in or ordering from the front counter. As well as being charged for it, someone else had stated our room number for their breakfast which they tried to get me too pay when you could tell it wasn't my writing or name. Overall this hotel was a disappointment and won't be coming back or recommending .

Best value in SydneyPosted Nov 9, 2014
Pros: Location, Price and Value
Location: You are minutes away from pretty much everything.
If you are looking for a place to stay in Sydney that will not rip your wallet apart, that is the place. Accommodations are basic but clean and the hotel is quiet (not often the case in Sydney).

Simple hotel in the centrePosted Nov 9, 2014
Great value/price. The staff could be more pleasant, helpful and informed. For example I bought the 7 day internet for 20$ and the staff told me I can only use it with one device. I asked: "Is that one device at a time or one device overall?" I was told one device overall, but the second I registered the card, the website told me it is word by word: "one concurrence device". Literally the first thing it tells you when you register the card... That said, room cleaning and all the other things were excellent, can't fault that any one bit.

Good Hotel close to Central SydneyPosted Nov 7, 2014
Pros: Location, easy to navigate, well run & good value.
Cons: Paper Towel dispenser & bin at the (kitchen) sink area in the hallway on each floor.
We had bought tickets for Swan Lake & the show Elcirco at Slide, which were both within walking distance from the hotel, which proved very convenient. It was also close to many tourist attractions, including the Opera house, Sydney harbour & bridge, the Rocks, Sydney Museum & the Barracks to name a few. There were lots of places to shop, eat & drink at, again within walking distance. Hyde Park was awesome & virtually on our doorstep!

Business trip to SydneyPosted Oct 30, 2014
Pros: Great proximity to the CBD, easy access to train stations for airport transfers, continental breakfast included in room rate, helpful staff
Cons: Note that internet access is free is accommodation booked directly with the Y, otherwise have to pay. This information is not publicised
Location: Sydney CBD shopping, Darling Harbour, the whole waterfront area, Surry Hills/Darlinghurst, major theatres close by
Stay here most times when visiting Sydney and travelling by myself. Great location and value for money for Sydney CBD. Easy to get to many places because of nearby transport and easy walking distance to anything around the CBD and surrounding suburbs
