Symi Island Vacations
Symi Island is situated 250 miles (402 kilometers) southeast of the national capital Athens and approximately 30 miles (48 kilometers) north of Rhodes.
Sometimes awe-inspiring, sometimes romantic, the castles and other strongholds surrounding this country are always worthwhile to tour. When you come across the fairytale-like structure of the Knights Castle of Symi, it’s very easy to envisage how noblemen once defended their empire.
In Symi Island be sure to check out some of the engaging museums, such as the Symi Nautical Museum, where you can always learn something new about the world. Take advantage of the peace and quiet, ask the friendly staff about the guided tours, pick up a souvenir at the gift shop or just enjoy the lovingly crafted exhibits.
If your looking for something a little out of the ordinary to do in the Symi Island area, before you leave be sure to visit Monastery of the Archangel Michael at Panormitis.
