Within minutes of NYS FairgroundsPosted Mar 30, 2014
Pros: The price and the included breakfast was pretty decent. Plus I was able to bring my dogs at no extra cost (this time).
Cons: It was perfectly adequate for what I paid.
Location: I wasn't interested in sight-seeing. I just needed a place within relative proximity to the NYS Fairgrounds for a dog show.
It was a great deal for the price. I would stay there again. Please keep in mind that this is far from being a 5 star hotel, but if you need a place to rest your head for the night it's just fine.

Hotel stay during the winter monthsPosted Feb 12, 2014
Pros: I thought the breakfast bar in the morning was pretty good, lots of variety - I normally just skip out on all of that.
Cons: making sure that the heating and cooling work in the appropriate seasons.
Location: Lots of stores, neat restaurants and places to look at
Everything about the actual hotel was fine. Lots of cleaning crew, cleaning up the snow tracks and rock salt and making the rooms. The only real actual problem we encountered was that we turned the heat on ( to 80 ) and left to visit some friends for about 2 hours. When we came back expecting a mostly toasty room, it was still as if we had just checked in. We then turned it up to 90 and waited and waited and waited.. it was like a hair dryer trying to warm a room. There were only what I call " summer linen" on the bed.. a thin blanket , sheet and a decorative foot blanket. All in all , it was a great stay, I just wish the heat worked better than what we had.

Hallways were freezing and room was initially cold of not colder than the hallways. Price wasn't bad. Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was tiny.

This was our third or fourth time staying at this hotel. In the past we rated our stay as average, however this last visit we upgraded to a King Suite and were thoroughly impressed. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean - and having a separate sitting area made us feel right at home (especially having a microwave and refrigerator). The wireless internet worked our entire stay (in the past the internet service has been horrible) and the service in the bar/restaurant was great. We were so pleased with our stay that we now plan to upgrade to the king suite for our future visits.

Clean & comfortable hotel near Destiny USAPosted Dec 3, 2013
We stayed for 2 nights just in time for Thanksgiving weekend. The room is very clean, smells good and the breakfast is awesome. My family rates this hotel as one of the best considering the affordable price. We're coming back for sure.

Not that great of a hotelPosted Dec 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
The front entrance of the hotel is beautiful, but it just seems that they were cheap on the rooms when it comes to maintenance. Our linens had holes in it. They're was hair on towels in the bathroom. we were looking to order take out and the rooms booklet had nothing in there, So I went to the front desk to ask for restaurants that delivery to this hotel and she gave me to fliers. Overall, the room was cheap but I've had better rooms and better rates elsewhere.

I"ve stayed at Clarion several times before; usually for a shopping trip as I'm from Canada. Generally my girlfriends and I will spend the day shopping at Waterloo Outlets, then retire here for the night before heading to Destiny USA the following day. The stay is always great (considering the cost, and length of stay), and the staff are freindly. The hotel has undergone many recent upgrades including fresh carpets throughout. Only downside of this stay was that there was no longer a waffle maker at the continental breakfast! That being said; there were lots of other items to choose from! I would definitely stay here again.
