We have been to Italy many times and this is easily the nicest, best run hotel that we have stopped in. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the facilities are high quality. It is a small, boutique hotel. We stayed a week and the hotel was nearly always full., yet it was never busy and there were always spaces available at the poolside and around the grounds. We ate in the hotel restaurant twice and the food was great and comparable prices to restaurants in the town. My wife had a birthday while we were there and without any prompting, the staff sang an Italian version of 'happy birthday' at breakfast and provided a birthday cake. I assume that they found out from the passport date of birth and it is a good example of the the attention to detail that the hotel provides. We had a hire car for the week and it is around 15 minute drive to ortigia (where the restaurants are). The hotel does provide a chargeable shuttle as it is in the middle of the countryside and there's nothing significant within walking distance.

it is definitely a family village, plenty of activities for kids...staff is very friendly, food is simple but we always found something we liked...location is good although there is no sandy beach and it is better not to swim in the sea as local people said is quite polluted.

"Cheaper Italian version of CLUB MED, happy vibe."
Great value place to stay. Sure it isnt a 5 star all bells and whistles hotel, but u get exactly what it says on the tin. Rooms are basic, but you don't spend much time in them anyway. They are spacious and functional and I would recommend one with a balcony so you can dry off your towel (u need to bring a pool/beach towel) at the day. There are no hidden extras when you check out, & they don't go out of their way to find extras to put on your bill either. I stayed with my 2 children (9 & 4 yrs old) and was the only Brit in the place, (thank heavens!!!). This was of huge fun to the Entertainment Chief who hosts the open air show everynight at 10pm, hauling us up onto the stage for fun poking and language games....all in jest & good spirit. I have a very basic understanding of French & Spanish and you get the gist of the entertainment as it is aimed at Kids aswell, so has to be easy to grasp..! The lunch & dinner buffet is a bit of a mild bun fight, I suggest arriving 10 mins after it starts and relaxing as there is plenty of food and they replenish platters both hot and cold very quickly. The pool is great and not used as much by the Italian guests, they seem to prefer the beach which is a 2 min walk down a path. We were more often by the pool, but the beach is there nevertheless if you like the morning or afternoon aqua gym classes and music to tap your feet to. Staff were amazing though not many english speakers. Car hire is available from reception, & highly recommended.
