Lovely ambiance, historic, friendly staff....

Posted Sep 16, 2014
Pros: Charm, historical, very quiet, welcoming and helpful staff
Cons: The rattling heater....
Location: There was a lot of construction around the area which may be difficult for out of towners who are not familiar with Syracuse.
The room was lovely, the staff was welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious (ordered room service and had the steel cut oatmeal with berries and raisins and peaches and it was absolutely wonderful!). My only issue was the heating unit in the room which made a lot of noise when it turned on....and it cycled about every 30 minutes or so....it was somewhat disruptive for sound sleep.

Pros: The room was in excellent condition, and the hotel staff was very accommodating to us.
Cons: Counter space in bathrooms.
Location: Within walking distance to Dome
Was very clean, comfortable, and liked the option of late check-in.

Overall, this is a very nice place. However, it is rather pricey for its location and style. The baseboard was falling off one side of the room, and there was need for some maintenance. Staff were very kind, particularly in the restaurant.

Decent hotel, not worth the money

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: The staff was pleasant.
Cons: See my description of our experience.
Location: It was five minutes walking to some local shopping and restaurants.
We were disappointed with our room. We felt like we were in a motel. Our room backed onto a parking lot, but our windows had only shears for privacy. At night, when it's dark outside and our room light is on, everyone can see into our room (such as when we are changing our clothes). Also, we didn't have a tea/coffee maker in our room. At the price we paid, that should have been there. Our room was not very soundproof. In the morning we could hear the news on the TV next door. He probably heard our movie the night before.

One night in Syracuse

The hotel was decent for a short stay. A typical 3 star hotel. Staff was friendly and check-in was quick. No mini fridge in the room but an ice machine was available.

OVER PRICED and NOT WORTH IT!

Posted Aug 3, 2014
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night and it did not meet our expectation. When you walk in there is a WONDERFUL view and everything looks VERY high end. Once we made it to our rm it was nothing shy of an up dated motel 6. The room was SMALL. Bed was VERY uncomfortable. Bathroom was sub par with no counter. I ordered room service the next day and my pancakes were DISGUSTING. The bacon and bagel were good though. However my service bill was $30.00 and the hotel charged me $50.00 ( I'm still trying to get my money back). On a more positive note the hotel staff is EXTREMELY FRIENDLY and there is PLENTY of parking. Overall I saw nothing special about this hotel and had we paid the full $200.00 a night I would have been VERY disappointed. But even so the 133.00 I spent was over priced. Crowne plaza is cheaper and the rooms are nicer. All in all I would save your money.
