Surprising non-chain gemPosted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: The shuttle, location, and quality of the room.
Cons: The housekeepers were a little too eager to get us to check-out. I understand but check-out is noon and people might want to stay until noon.
Location: Very close to Armory Square which has lots going on.
We stayed in a king room in the old building. It was nicely updated and had a sleeping area and sitting area, both with TV's. The room was large and comfortable and had great wifi access. We happened to see that the front desk would arrange for transportation for guests. I expected that they'd call a taxi for me but quickly found out there's a shuttle. We were going nearby for dinner but the driver, who was friendly and knew quite a lot about the area, mentioned that he also took people to the airport. This was a surprisingly nice amenity that we weren't expecting. I'd absolutely stay here again.

Syracuse Univ visitPosted Jul 17, 2014
Overnight stay picking up my daughter at sports camp. Reception was friendly, hotel is luxurious and beautiful. Room was perfect, comfortable, quiet, clean. Had a glass of wine at the bar before bed. Breakfast at 1600 was perfect. Will definitely stay here again.

DissapointingPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The great rate I got on Expedia --$109.00/night.
Cons: Older section of the hotel needs major renovations.
Location: The location of this hotel is not great.
Outdated room, not very clean, very thin walls. Refrigerators can be requested and no charge. Excellent toiletries.

Excellent location for SU peoplePosted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: Free parking and Fitness Center
Very well located, close to SU. Very large, accessible lobby, nicely decorated. Our room was large, with a separate workspace adjacent to the large bathroom. Plenty of FREE parking. Decent Fitness Center.

Nice hotel, but some accommodations lackingPosted Jun 26, 2014
Cons: The wireless needs to be strengthened so that everyone can use it no matter where in the building their room is.
I staid here one night and while I generally enjoyed it, there were a few aspects that were disappointing to me. They advertise free wifi, but the signal was not strong enough in my room so it went in and out throughout my stay. I contacted the front desk about this and the woman was very friendly but essentially said nobody else was having this problem. As a result I wasn't able to use the internet during my stay. I ordered room service, which was delicious, but the room doesn't really come with a table, so I had to eat on the bed. But other than that, everything was as it should be.
