Convenient Location / Friendly StaffPosted Jul 23, 2014
We have stayed in 4 hotels during our trip to Sicily and this is by far the better one. Siracusa is not a big town and there is no big name hotels there. The hotel is a 15 minute walk to the main part of town. The INTERNET worked great; much better than the 5 Star hotel we stayed in Taomina. The hotel staff is just plain nice. The shower is the only thing that I don't like but I guess this is a problem all over Europe.

Great location and awesome staffPosted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Rooms, breakfast, staff, everything
Location: Siracusa is beautiful , Ortygia is great to walk and discover....nice restaurants and sites....
Had the most amazing time at the hotel.....well situated between ortygia and the Greek theatro...a 2 minute walk to ortygia and maybe 20 to Greek theatre.... We were welcomed by the owner and all the staff treated us like kings....rooms are roomy and bathrooms and showers great....everything very clean and fresh looking Staff was very helpful with any questions or needs we had..... The breakfast was awesome , try the ricotta tart if they have ....only regret was that we slept in first morning and were to late to take advantage of the Great breakfast.... Highly recommend it....and try to relax on the roof terrace great view at night

The perfect boutique hotel experiencePosted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Wonderful people. Perfect location. Superb breakfast. Classic yet understated design with every amenity one would expect but with a personal touch.
Location: Two minutes' walk from the island of Ortigia. Ten minutes' walk from the train and bus stations and access to Noto, Modica, Ragusa, Taormina.
Siracusa itself is a beautiful place - from the typically stunning piazzas of Ortigia to the ancient Greek and Roman ruins in the Archeological Park - and there are some equally impressive places nearby which are well worth a visit (we'd particularly recommend the baroque city of Noto, half an hour away by train, as well as the clifftop wonder of Taormina and, if you're feeling adventurous, a walk up Mount Etna - sturdy shoes and an extra layer of clothing advised). But what made the trip particularly memorable for us was the Hotel Cavalieri and its owners and staff. We travel a lot, for work and pleasure, and we've never had such a delightful hotel experience. In fact we made such a connection with the people at the Cavalieri that we felt on departure as if we were leaving friends behind. Their professionalism is second-to-none but more than that, their warm and natural personalities shine through in every interaction. Vitor, at front of house, conducts himself with such integrity and care that he becomes your personal champion for the duration of your stay: a friendlier and more personable individual it would be difficult to find anywhere. We were also lucky enough to be staying while the owners were around and we had many conversations with them: a thoroughly charming and impressive couple who were always keen to share the many features of their city and also to learn about us. Such people are rare and to be cherished. The Hotel Cavalieri is a home from home.

Boutique hotel for the sights of South East SicilyPosted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: More storage space for clothes Rooftop bar was a nice extra but could be utilised and promoted better
Location: Easy walking distance to Ortygia. Archaeological park about 30 mins away Beach at Aronella excellent if you have a car - about 20-30 min drive
Staff extremely friendly with good recommendations of local restaurants. Well located for Ortygia and if you take a car, a good base for the South East (Parking was easier than anticipated). Limited facilities but accurate to the description on line. A good healthy breakfast with excellent coffee. Interior rooms have to keep windows closed, but air conditioning more than adequate. Overall reasonably priced for the experience.

Nice hotel, good locationPosted Nov 3, 2013
We spent one night at this hotel in Siracusa. The room was small but very nice, the staff was helpful and the common space was lovely and they had a good breakfast spread. Good location, a short walk to Ortigia.

Great boutique hotel!Posted Oct 15, 2013
We had a wonderful time at Hotel Cavalieri. The hotel is very nicely located; two minutes walking distance from Ortigia yet far enough to be a calm oasis. Several excellent restaurants around the corner from the hotel make it an ideal relaxing location. the staff was professional and very helpful; from arranging restaurant reservations to giving us travel suggestions and getting us a parking spot in front of the hotel. Rooms are very clean and nicely appointed. Recommended!

Mid point locationPosted Oct 8, 2013
Pros: Breakfast was great, location was alright
Cons: shower needs bleach and scrubbing.
The hotel is a 10 minute walk from train station. Breakfast was a 5 star. I just felt like we were under the screening of couple of staff. I was sitting on the sofa with my sandals on the floor and my feet wrapped on my long dress, over the white leather sofa/chair. An older lady who works there or manages the place, came up to me and asked to take my feet from the sofa because it was white and would get dirty. Simple as that, don't have a white sofa on a hotel if you think it should not be used.
