Business trip to Taber

Posted Jan 23, 2015
Pros: Clean quiet friendly
Cons: Better continental breakfast options.... sausage patties and egg scramblers are standard in a lot of super 8s
Location: Was a good location right on the main hwy with the local pool and rec centre across the street. Restaurants shut down really early so be warned.
The Super 8 was quite nice. The staff were quite friendly and ensured I knew that part of the hotel was set up for smoking rooms and put me at the opposite end of the building so I would not smell smoke. The decor of the room was kind of 70is but what I really enjoyed is they had a reclining chair in my room...not something you often see in hotels. It was so comfortable I caught a 3 hour nap in it while watching TV. There is no elevator so if you are on the second floor it is a bit of a tote to get your baggage up. The continental breakfast is pretty minimalistic. Toast, Yogurt, and a waffle maker. I have seen much better in other Super 8's

Very small hotel, great staff.

We had a few things go wrong - keys for the room stopped working, shower wasn't great - but there was a lot of really great things. Staff was awesome, breakfast was good, the hotel was overall clean.. I would recommend it.

Not much choice, the best of the worst.

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Staff were nice, facilities clean, but the room was cold. It was -10 to -15c outside and didn't feel much warmer inside. My second night I used my sleeping that's rated to -20c to have a good sleep...

No king beds.

Posted Oct 18, 2014
Pros: The hotel otherwise is fine. The staff is helpful and friendly. They have a breakfast in the morning included.
Cons: Better beds and an elevator would be appreciated.
This hotel has no king beds, and also, when we booked online, we were not given the option of choosing what kind of bed we wanted. So we ended up to 2 twin beds, which is not comfortable for a married couple used to a king bed. There is also no elevator.

one of three hotels close to Vauxhall

Posted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: The breakfast was reasonable, good coffee.
Cons: The bedding and bathrooms definitely need upgrading.
The room was cold when we got there, the bathroom wasn't clean, the sheets were well worn, needing replacing. The pillows need replacing, thin like pancakes, with no puffiness to them. Very disappointing.

Taber Super 8 visit

Posted Oct 19, 2013
Pros: nothing
Cons: Night person requires a course in public relations
Location: We had breakfast at Smittys near...
Upon arrival we were informed that there was no non smoking room available as sold out. The room was definetly a smoking room as strong odour.. we had to sleep with windows open to keep down stink...We attended a family event and came back to hotel around 9:30 there was a display of papers at entrance so I picked one up, the Lethbridge Herald.. one day old... the night person informed me that I must pay $ 1.00 for this paper.. He chased me up the stairs demanding that I pay this money.... so I gave him the paper and continued onto our room. Rather disappointing as I travel throughout the world and usually newspapers are complimentary.. I guess not at this hotel. We will never return to this property again.

Needs updating for the price you pay.

Posted Aug 11, 2013
Pros: Location
Cons: Dirty
Bedding is getting old, carpets stained badly, entire room is dated, needs updating, grout on tub is stained orange. Good location, but did not sleep well because did not want to touch anything.

skip the super 8 :(

Posted Feb 20, 2013
Pros: none
Cons: beds too hard, and had burn holes in the comforter, train annoying
Location: location close to gas station
The beds were rock hard, train kept on going by every few hours, coffee maker didn't work, free breakfast was ...4 muffins and an empty juice container, small cups for coffee, tv was an antique, carpet looked dirty.
