Not Impressed

Posted Jan 11, 2015
Never had been there before. We entered via the main Casino doors. BOOM. Hit by a cigarette smell that gave me a headache. Opened door into Smok-free room and immediately called front desk for new room. They said they wound send ionizer. They did and that remedies the the problem.

Out of nonsmoking rooms

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Nice room but it stunk of smoke. Even though we requested a nonsmoking room, they had none when we checked in.

Room great but some staff was great others lacked

Posted Dec 14, 2014
Pros: Some of the staff were very helpful. And the rooms were nice and clean and quiet and great for the price. See my experience
Cons: Some staff could use a little more help with their customer service. See my experience above.
Location: Child had a competition near by, zoo and shopping.
First refused to allow my husband and child check in because reservation was in my name. I asked him if she would speak to me on the phone and he asked her and she said no. I was stuck in a traffic jam about an hour and 20 minutes away. So my husband who is very passive and patient was like she won't talk to you we'll just wait and they didn't have a car because a friend had dropped them off and left because I was coming from a busy meeting from a different location that day. So I called them and just before I started to say this is ridiculous are last names match, our addresses match, the reservation said 2 adults and 1 child. She cut me off, said her manager said it was fine and I just needed to stop by the desk to provide my id when I got in and she hung up on me. When I arrived I waited for the valet and when I saw one, was asking a question and he was having none of that and said I am off and I said okay well is there another valet and he wouldn't even answer my question and blew past me. Finally a few minutes later another valet arrived and he was very sweet guy. Went to the front counter and the ladies at the front counter were also so nice and sweet. So definitely a mixed bag on who you deal with there. Bartenders, staff people on the casino were very helpful. Rooms very comfortable and clean but even with a smoke free room and being a smoker myself it was very smoky place, their smoke eaters did not work very well.

Gambling and event venue

Posted Dec 13, 2014
Note: This is a smoking hotel-casino. Booked an upgraded room to attend show at "other" Emerald Queen. Entrance was serioudly sketchy, but appreciated the valet and free parking. Greeting at check in left something to be desired (not even a smile, a welcome). Shuttle was convenient, room was nice but could not escape the dense smoke smell. They explain that even on non smoking rooms and floors, the smoke permiates everything. It's true. It was so bad, everywhere. We paid way too much for our room considering it all.

Pros: Very polite staff.
Cons: Walking through the casino to check in is a little difficult but I don't know what they can do about it.
Location: You have Tacoma with plays, theaters and great food. We did the waterfront for dining.
We told them when we checked in that we were 3 and could they please make sure that we had enough for 3 such as towels, glasses etc. By the time we got our luggage and went to the room they had placed more towels in the bathroom and we were well taken care of. The next day they asked if we had enough of everything.

Concert attending

Posted Nov 25, 2014
Pros: Convenient for concerts
Cons: The smell
Smells very strongly of cigarettes everywhere becuase of the casino. Unpleasant to go from one part of the hotel to any other part because of the stench. Will not be staying here again.

The smoke sell is horrible. I would only stay there if you are a smoker.

Not a place to relax

Posted Oct 24, 2014 on Hotels.com
Traffic was terrible. Bedding and bath bare necessities. Extra $100 deposit for possible room damage. Don't recommend.
