“Flora save the day”
Everyone talks about providing excellent service or excellent customer satisfaction. But what separates a great customer service from excellent service is defined by how the service representative solve a problem when you are in a jam. In this case, Flora the customer service rep step up to the plate to help me find a new room when the room that was assigned to me ran into some problems. Instead of asking me to live with the shortcomings, Flora took control of the situation and make sure that the problem was not only solved, but meets or exceeds the expectations. Congrats to Fortune Hyatt for having an excellent staff on its team. Looking forward to my next visit to your hotel.
“Good location, clean room, good value”
I was very pleased with the hotel and would go back again. Rooms were clean, staff was helpful, great breakfast (take your pick of Western or Asian), good location near Taipei Main Station. Only one problem: Some loud guests passing by in the hall woke me up at night ... but that could happen anywhere. I'll stay there again next time I'm in Taipei.
“Satisfied Stay”
This hotel has nothing to do with the Hyatt chain, despite its name. However, overall it was a nice hotel and I would stay there again. It was clean, fairly well maintained, and conveniently located. The hotel seems to be geared mainly toured Asian tourist groups, as the television stations only had Asian language programs. Also, the breakfast buffet featured mainly Asian selections, though there were a few western dishes. Still, the buffet was good and had a large variety of different daily choices. The room info listed that they have Sleep Number beds, but we certainly did not have it in our room. While still comfortable, it was not what was advertised. The other odd thing was that there was no clock radio in the room. I liked the location of the hotel. It's a 5 minute walk to the underground city shopping mall and another 10 minute walk to connect to the Taipei Main MRT station and the high speed rail station. The MRT is an inexpensive and convenient way to get around the city, and the high speed rail is a quick and convenient way to get to the airport and other parts of the island.
“Avoid this hotel”
I based my LOW rating on my 3 night stay in Mar 2012: 1) The lobby on my floor had a rotten smell. 2) Air conditioning has no dial for temp control, just FAN ON or OFF. 3) Bed sheets are old and thin; bath towels are grey instead of white color. 4) The hotel is old and need rennovation badly. The walls, furniture in my room simply are old and beat up. 5) It is catered to tourists groups from mainland China. Morning and evening are peak time for the tourists and tour buses gathered in the lobby and in front of the hotel.
