A little gem in Taipei

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Though located in a slightly dodgy neighbourhood, Ginza Hotel oozes pride and class. By class, I don't mean luxurious décor and facilities (this, after all, is a very reasonably priced hotel) but simple elegance, excellent cleanliness and staff who serve with tremendous dedication and pride. They seem to treat each guest as an honoured guest in their own home, constantly offering service beyond the call of duty and greeting you warmly. Three examples of their exceptional service: 1. They answered all my touristy questions very patiently and attentively. 2. Though the laundry room is supposed to be self-service, the young lady happily offered to wash and dry our clothes for us at no extra charge. 3. When another young lady found out that we had to check out at 5.30 am to catch our early flight, she realised that we would miss their usual complimentary breakfast and made special arrangements to have a sandwich and drink prepared for us early. The complimentary breakfast is yummy and healthy, with a nice range from bacon and eggs to steamed vegetables to miso soup, French loaf to vermicelli to rice. The location is also excellent, very central. Just a leisurely 10-minute walk to Zhongshan MRT station, which is just one stop away from Taipei Main Station, from which you can also take the high-speed rail to just about any region in Taiwan.

Feels just like home.

Pros: Service Excellence.
Location: The hotel is 'surrounded' by the easy access to the Metro stations (closest would be Zhongshan North) and bus stops for guests.
Do not be fooled by the run-down outlook and the '1 floor only' feature of the hotel. From the time you check in, the level of hospitality and service that the service staff provided was impeccable. Frankly, it was far better than any other "4 star"/"5 star" rated hotels that I have been in. The level of service that the receptionist and staff provided was truly one that felt like home coupled with true professionalism. If you are unsure or in need of anything, there would never be a hesitation to approach them. They would explain in micro-details of how to get around and even recommend certain locations to get to!

Excellent Service but hotel building is old

Posted Mar 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel occupies a portion of the 4th floor of an old building. Building entrance and lift significantly lowered the class of the hotel. However, customer service is excellent, helpful and we feel welcomed. Breakfast is good. Room well declorated with very good wifi connection and air conditioning but really too small even we stayed in the luxury room.

Service Staff

Posted Feb 2, 2014
Pros: the staff and the location of the hotel as it is near the shopping area and famous food stalls
Location: near many shops , shopping centres , foodstalls , train stations
The staff at the front desk were exceptionally good and helpful. They were extremely efficient and went the extra mile to fulfill my requests as much as they could. Even though the building where the hotel is housed in is a bit older , the rooms are very clean and comfortable.

Convenient, clean, but too loud

Posted Jan 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
Convenient, clean, but too loud, the area is known for entertainment, I had hard time falling asleep till like 3 or 4am coz there was a karaoke place next to the hotel!!! If you want to take it easy and rest it up, you prolly don't wanna stay here. But if you r younger ones who are not going to sleep til 3am anyway, you might like it here, the rooms are really neat! But another downside is that there's no reception desk on the first floor, it looks like a rundown place on the first floor! But the hotel floor(4th) looks neat.

Not convienient but comfort room

Posted Jan 21, 2014
The hotel location is not convenient, about 15-20 mins walk from Zhongshan station. Recommended taxi for all activities by staffs. Hotel is small, only 15 rooms. The room is small but very clean, nice and comfortable. Hotel staffs are very friendly, warm and helpful... Free wifi and breakfast...

Nice Comfy Hotel to stay with!

Posted Aug 12, 2013
Pros: Warm welcome counter staff to greet you and clean room
Cons: Breakfast varieties can be improved
It is a very comfy and clean environment. Counter Staff and their service are responsive and willing to help. Thought it would be good to have more varieties of breakfast.
