It's a very nice and clean hotel. The bed is very comfortable. But the pilows still need to improve...I love the stuff. I reached the hotel quite late at night but the staff came to serve us in very short time...This is the part I appriciated the most...

Walk across the street to Shilin MRT station.
Shilin is close to my church in Yangminshan. It has become dear to me.

I've never thought that nobody would be around foe either service or trip advice. I didn't like the non-face to face experience. Though the facitlities and the location of the hotel are acceptable, service could be improved.

Close to the Metro
We arrived at 8pm, the staff was off duty and we had to wait 10 mins at the door after a long ride. What can I say, it's cheap and very close to the metro. In fact you can hear the metro go by at night and the bed would rumble along with it. The room we got was closest to the main road and we could hear every traffic detail. The wallpaper was peeling off and had dead mosquitoes on it and the room was dusty (it was okay after opening the A/C). But the AC is in great condition and the toilet is very clean!

Motel close to Shilin MRT
It is not a hotel. Rather it looks like a private walk up apartment. It has no lift. The staircase and walk way is very narrow. If tourists are taking big bunky luggauge, I will not recommend this motel to them. It is really not easy to move about.

Sir Daniel the helpful staff from Beauty hotel
we had a problem finding the hotel because there was no signage.It was hidden in between commercial establishments and we had difficulty speaking with the staff because they cannot understand and speak english that well,but thanks to a certain staff member (Daniel) who was from the Beauty hotel from Jiantian district who was very helpful and accomodating.

This is not a hotel
The language barrier was a major issue and I would not classify this as a hotel. Major issues with the staff (Leno), one let me us there phone to check email when at time of check in however a few days later this staff came to me and said I checked your email and you have a message.... NOT impressed that the staff member saved my email information and was able to access it. I also asked for another pillow as I have a bad back and they wouldn't give me one.

Convenient, clean hotel
It was exactly as we expected. Tiny but comfortable with direct access to the street. The downside is that the walls are pretty thin and therefore it can be noisy at times.

A little hard to find but is worth it

It takes a learning curve To stay here.
Room ok. Big, clean but some shower towels were dirty. Service was extremely inconvenient and frustrating. Desperate building, staff only available at hours that do not fit a normal Hotel users time frame. Check in a hassle couldn't arrive early and drop off bags at counter. There is no counter. More to add but to much.

Luckily or by design, my gracious hosts at Shilin Metro Stay put me in one of the same two rooms at the end, making me feel at home every time I visit my favorite country.

Good location!
Is quit okay but there's no receptionist. so we can't put our luggage after check out to go around before we left. but the location is very good. Just we have to ask people around to know where's the hotel at the first time, because the sign of hotel name's has a different name with the hotel name's in my booking reference.

Limited service rooms near Shilin Night Market
This is a uniquely located and reasonably priced place to stay next to the Shilin Night Market area and across Zhongzheng Road from the Shilin MRT station. You can enjoy all the street food and shopping a few minutes walk from your door, and use the MRT to connect with the airport or go almost anywhere in Taipei. A bus also runs from the Shilin station to the National Palace Museum, one of the world's greatest collections of Chinese art. And the rooms are clean, if small, with modern fixtures and not too much noise though the trains do rumble by. But there are some challenges for those who don't speak Chinese (and even for those who do). The rooms are above shops and the access is a small recessed black door easily overlooked though the number is posted. There is a phone by the door, but it was never answered, even during the listed check in times. The only way we were able to contact someone (apparently the offsite owner) was by calling the phone number on the Internet listing. They called the cleaning lady who was working inside and came downstairs to let us in. There is no hotel desk, just rooms (with nice private bathrooms and air conditioning), hallways, and stairs. The cleaning lady handles the registration, room key cards and door and WiFi codes (very nice but limited English). The outer door works by using the card to unlock a sliding cover on a keypad and entering the code. We had to try a couple keys cards to get ones that worked reliably.

It's a "hotel" at the upstairs of shophouses. No reception counter. I waited for at least 20 minutes before the staff responded to me. Very basic, clean room, suitable for short stay.

The rooms are way too small. Unless one are simply looking for a place to sleep that's all, this might appeal to you. Otherwise, it's like caging human in it. Not even like a hotel. Wifi was horrible, even with the 3g sim card i have - i wasn't able to connect in the room at all. No moving space, either there are space for luggage. Real disappointed. Does no justice to the pictures provided. However, room was really clean. And it's convenient and close to mrt and night market.

We were directed to the hotel's second branch two streets away from the address given on the website. Overall it is clean and good would recommend.

Decent for a night's sleep but do not expect much
room is really small and squeezy and there will very obvious stains on the bedsheets. pretty decent for just a night's sleep and nothing more. location was good, within walking distance from shihlin night market and a very short walk from shihlin mtr station. service was horribly bad because there is no check in counter and it is also very hard to spot the only extrance (just a door) to the apartments on the second and third floor.

The good, the bad, and the ugly.
The good: Hotel is clean, sleek décor, small but adequate. Location near subway station and businesses. The bad: Keep in mind it is not a hotel, it is a hostel, a conversion of a residential building in a midst of residential area. The ugly: Many reviews indicated it has no receptionist. No kidding, it doesn't even have a lobby! Not even have a clear sign. Expect a small door next to a storefront with a telephone. You pick up the phone, and 15 minutes later, someone come over to show you the room, which on my case, it is not even at the same location, we had to walk another block with all the luggage, turned into an ally in the residential neighborhood. As long as you don't expect this to be a three star rated hotel, and prepare your mental that it is a hostel, then it would be okay. My worst experience was no one picked up the call on the first try, imagine it was at 11 pm, traveling with 2 children after a 15 hours flight.
