"Wonderful surprise!"
Wow. For the price and the images on the site, I expected the average business hotel, but I was delighted to find lots of little surprises! The room, although small for US standards, was a decent size for a budget hotel in Tokyo, and had a large, very comfortable bed. The bathroom had a soaking tub, as well as shower, and there was a "kitchen" area with a fridge, sink and shelves for toiletries or snacks. The TV was new and had lots of cable channels. There was even a step-out patio overlooking the river, and a gorgeous skyline view of the Tokyo Sky Tree and the Asahi building! The top floor features a communal bath, a cute footpath with the same skyline view, washing machines and vending machines with soft drinks, beer and snacks. The breakfast was exceptional with Japanese (big and yummy portions) and Western options, with lots of extras on the salad/fruit/cereal/rice bar. There was also excellent speedy wifi, free bag check and very friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely be back again!

"Centrally located hotel for tourists."
Excellent hotel. Rooms are smaller than american hotels, but clean, with bathrooms Its Right near very important tourist activities in the city. With nice views of a small city lake and park. 5 minutes walk from the train and subway stations so you can catch a direct train to the airport, or take the local trains around the city. The hotel has a nice spa (currently free) to relax in a hot tub or get a mechanical chair massage. ( massages by humans are not free). The hotel food is excellent The staff speaks enough English to get directions or get activity ideas. The little things like phone chargers in the room were also nice touches.

"Be reasonable on your expectation. Perfect for me."
Basic, clean room, -1 star for cigarette smoke intrusion, should have better isolation. -1 star for staff language, otherwise very helpful. As in other reviews, prepare to the smoke smell. Capsule itself is clean and have power supply. LCD TV discolored. I was put up in Flr #7 have to climb a flight. Flr #6 feels better, cleaner, better toilet and cooler.

"great experience in the middle of it all"
This was something different! When we wanted to take a shower, we found out that there aren't any western style showers around, everything is communal! We were a little apprehensive at first (being naked around others), but no one cares, no one will look at you. The idea is that you're a guest at the sauna with a sleepover (capsule). You'll be requested to walk around in their attire (robes), and you'll have free use of the sauna facilities, which is great. There's a hot & cold pool, as well as a sauna. What is irritating is the procedure you have to go through when going out/coming in. At arrival, take off your shoes after leaving the elevator to the 4th floor. Go to the desk, check in (some staff don't speak english though), and you'll have to place your shoes in the shoes locker. After that, you'll be handed the luggage locker key (they're small, you may have to place any suit cases in the locker area). Each time you go out, you'll have to hand in your locker key, and you'll be given a piece of paper on which is written your locker number. When coming back, you have to hand them the piece of paper, you'll be given the locker key, and you'll have to change to the sauna robes... The place has a late 70s, early 80s feel to it, which I thought was great. The capsules are OK to sleep in.Do bring your ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. They don't have a lock! So keep your valuables in the locker.

"Wonderful staff so helpful."
I cannot recommend this hotel enough. In the busy city this is close to the river and parks and yet also close to the metro and all the main lines. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the reception staff went out of their way to help me. I cannot speak highly enough of their kindness to me travelling to Japan for the first time and I do not speak Japanese. When I made an enquiry they found out exactly what I needed to know and made a huge difference to my holiday.

"Very nice hotel."
Very nice, clean, and well located hotel. Rooms are small (like most hotel rooms in Tokyo) but clean, modern, and most importantly, with a comfortable good-size bathroom. Complimentary breakfast is a plus. Coffee, juice and toasts to get your day started. Just a few blocks from Ueno station, which is a very convenient location!

"Great place, bit of walking involved."
Rooms are great, staff very friendly and efficient. Varying degrees of English, but all well up to anything you'd need. Only issue is location–I strongly recommend getting a taxi there from the station first time around. The place doesn't tend to show up accurately on most mapping systems. It's a ten minute walk to the nearest station (on the JR Yamanote line, the main one for getting around Tokyo), and another 15 minutes to Ueno Park/Zoo, so ideal for visiting them too!

"A nice business hotel"
The place is a bit of a walk from Ueno JR station, but it is also a lot nicer than a lot of the places closer to the station. It is very close to the Inaricho metro stop on the Ginza line, so if you are going to Asakusa, it is a very nice location. The rooms, while small, are well-sized by Japanese standards. And the staff are excellent.

This was my first trip to Japan I am so happy I stayed at this hotel. The location is excellent as were the staff who were so helpful and friendly. The room was clean and more than adequate for someone like myself who is out and about sightseeing every day. Thank-you to the reception staff for making my first stay in Japan such a lovely one. I will definitely be back!
