We had some trouble with our hotel room. When I went to check in, she said that our room did not have a key, but that she could just let me in.
When I said I wanted a room with a key she said they were completely booked. Then clarified that they had a king room but I would have to pay the difference. I told her there was no difference, they were the sane price and it wasn’t my fault the lock was broken.
She then said she couldn’t upgrade me under any circumstance even if I paid more since I booked through a 3rd party. She said why did I have to be so particular about the room having a key. She then checked in 2 other people.
I tried to call the manager but it rang at the front desk, I tried to get into your hotels.com but it was doing 2 factor identification so I couldn’t get in. So I booked a king room and figured we could work it out because it’s midnight at this point. Then she can’t find that reservation even though I’m showing her the reservation. This prompts her to call the manager and he quickly told her to upgrade the room.
All that took about 30 minutes. We are now in a room but wanted to explain what happened. I felt like I must be on hidden camera or something. Who gets a room without a key?
