Pros: Staff are 99% of a hotel, at Bern they are 100%.
Cons: Nothing worth mentioning.
Great staff, nothing was too much trouble. Looking forward to going back next time.

Very central but noisy

Posted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: Location
Cons: Close the hostel earlier
Location: Great African restaurant round the corner and an great Indian restaurant too.
The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the Old Town in Tallinn. Facilities were fine and the staff were always helpful but the hotel area is very noisy. There is some sort of hostel in the downstairs courtyard and they open very late at night so at 02:00 two nights and 01:00 on the other two nights the courtyard is full of noisy people shouting at each other and singing.

Personalized service from a terrific staff!

I stayed at Bern for my last night of a 2 week Baltics trip. Bern's located on a more commercial part of the city - the port's nearby, Rimi supermarket is right across the street and there are clubs close by as well. I had a 6 AM flight so I checked out at 4 AM...the front desk lady (I should have gotten her name to thank her properly but was a bit too drowsy to remember at the time) made me a cup of coffee and packed me a bag breakfast. I was really grateful - it made my day as I started on my long journey home. Bern's a good hotel in a convenient part of the city made great by a terrific staff - I will definitely look to stay at Bern when I'm back in Tallinn.

Feel welcome

Posted Sep 18, 2013
Pros: Convenient location. Bang opposite a supermarket. 2/3 minutes walk to the tram stop. Staff are helpul but sometimes helpless.
Cons: Shower cabinet? Improve hot water system.
Location: Walk to all the sights worth visiting in the old town. Good restaurants nearby.
Pleasant hotel well located. Adequate breakfast. Almost everything worked! The sink drained very slowly. Hot water takes a long time, 10-15 minutes, to flow first thing in the morning. Not good when the sink does not drain properly and one is in a rush! Water from the shower seeps into the rest of the bathroom. Use self help mop to clean up.

Great Hotel

Stayed for 3 nights. 5 mins walk from from town centre bus stop and the number 2 bus will bring you from the airport. Hotel is in a great location on the edge of the old town. Check-in was excellent and quick. Room was of a good size with a wet room, mini-bar and bath robes. Breakfast was good but nothing special with small hot food-scrambled eggs and meatballs. My only gripe would be for tea & coffee in the room.

Great breakfast

We came for a conference at Tallinn University, so it was only a 15 minute walk from the hotel. We were impressed by the service and the ample breakfasts.

Hotel OK but terrible noise in the night

Posted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: Staff, very polite. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: .Ask the owner of the hostel to put the night entrance on other side of the house. Signs like "Silence, please". Sound- proof windows
Location: Good location, near the old town, walking distance from the main spots. Night life (restaurants, bars) very close.
Hotel shares the yard with the hostel and the beer bar. Young people, mostly drunk, come back from the city between 1 and 5 o'clock in the morning, on Sunday even 6.They sing, scream, talk loud and make a big noise. It is impossible to have a good night's sleep.
