The hotel is not really what you'd expect from a four star hotel. Breakfast was mediocre (not a lot of options and many of them ran out and the staff didn't fill them up), the bed was too soft and pillows too hard, the room's door was really difficult to open and close, there was a whole on the room's wall, and the room's bathroom's power socket didn't work. Also the soap provided didn't really work as shampoo. But service and cleanliness were ok, and the location was great.

Nice and easy place
The hotel is conveniently situated, we enjoyed buffet breakfast as well. One thing we didnt expect, the walls are paperthin, we stayed in the lower part of the building, underground I supose which wasnt a problem so im not sure if this is the case in the whole building. Basically you could hear people talking in the next room but whats worse, sleepless nights because of our neighbours snoring!!! Other aspects were fine, also very frindly and informative staff.

Amazing location, good breakfast, kind and friendly staff but very dirty room. We had sunflower seeds on our bed, gray hairs, some kind of plastic bottle seals hanging on shower's doors. Almost no soap, ref that was making weird sounds all night. Room smelled bad and bathroom smelled worse, had to keep window open during the whole stay. Not to mention that we booked a fully white, medieval looking room with stone walls and got a basic looking room with dusty wallpaper (literally dust in corners of wallpaper). I wanted to plug my phone to charge and had to move the bedside cabinet and there were dust balls on the floor. I would stay here again only if everything else is booked out or if you dont mind the dirtyness. The hotel corridoors seem much nicer and cleaner than our room.

Very inconvenient. Beds lopsided. No air in some rooms due to lack of windows. Staff and managenent apathetic when trying to cancel. I will not stay again.

Interesting and unusual hotel in the Old Town of Tallinn, reasonably priced and with helpful staff. Quite a few stairs, including a spiral staircase, to climb, so not suitable for the very elderly or those in anyway disabled, but otherwise strongly recommended.

Pros: Few minutes away from Old town main square, walking distance in every corner of old town. Our room was big (room 25) big bathroom and clean. The staff were helpful specially the two staff who always duty every time we needed help or something Jevgni and the lady name Olga. The breakfast was brilliant. I recon this hotel we stayed there for 7 nights and we will definitely go back again. Value for your money. Cons: There was no lift you have go up and down with tiny round stairs if your room was on below the ground but understandable because it’s an century old building. The wall wasn’t sound proof and you can hear noise from the other room.

Tallinn, the place of culture and fun.
The hotel is very well placed in the old part of the city and is convenient for everywhere. The staff were excellent, very helpful and obliging. The room was great but the location of the room was down two floors from the exit and at the very back of the hotel. Not best placed room for two people getting on for sixty.

The rooms pictured had a window, yet the room I was given was underground. That is the only complaint. Otherwise it was a nice place to stay, great locale and I would stay again.

A prison, not a hotel.
They don’t advertise that it was originally a women’s prison. My room was on the 3rd floor underground. I think they still use the too small beds from the prison days. Uncomfortable. A fan produced the air.

Tragic.
Tragic! Had room for 3 nights with the breakfast. 2 people. Bed very small, area so so. Wifi non existing. Breakfast was the worst. Came around 9 am, breakfast was till 11. No plates, no silverware, no cups. And basically no food. Tables covered with dirty dishes from previous group. When I ask for bread, was told they run out, we have to wait when they get more. Around 10 minutes. Food was basically not replenished, was obvious there was no food. Coffee undrinkable. It was obvious this happens on regular basis.Next 2 days we had a breakfast elsewhere. When I complained at the front desk, I was promised that manager will be spoken to and I will be credited breakfast for all 3 days. Never happened, of course. Will definitely not recommend.

A fabulous stay! The rooms were lovely and comfortable and the location is perfect. Breakfast is super. Wifi isn’t great in the lower rooms however and the restaurant closes early..

I stayed in Tallinn one night for business. The hotel is not a boutique style hotel and could use a freshening up but the building has real charm (built in the 14th century) and character (I got lost 4 times in the building which I loved). The rooms were adequate though no frills, but the ambiance of the building and neighborhood were just right for a reasonable price.

Very satisfactory stay!
Very cute hotel in the very heart of the old town of Tallinn!!! Everything worth seeing is close by and even some nice bars and restaurants. The room was very clean but 2 floors under ground with no windows which felt kind of weird. The overall internal architecture of the building was actually uncomfortable, having to go through the kitchen to the rooms through a narrow staircase with no lifts at all but i guess its because it is a very old traditional building. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast quite basic but still ok. I would certainly recommend it to anyone wishing to stay as centrally as possible in the old town!

Granted - this is probably a 'very British need', but there was no Tea making facilities in the room(!), and whilst shower was piping hot, hot water at the basin took an age. Staff were great, room comfy, rooms / hotel was clean, place was characterful etc. - so lots to commend it too.

Centrally located hotel and reasonably priced. Easy access to Tallinn Old Town and not far from all forms of transport. My room was spacious but had no natural light (beneath the ground floor in an old building). Roomy bathroom, comfortable bath and plenty of hot water. Not much communal space and the breakfast room was rather a squash with the other guests. Useful stopover for a short trip.

Tallinn Old Town hotel
The Olevi hotel is a very old building. There are many steps and a circular staircase which did not suit us. Bed linen was a bit scruffy. Location was excellent in the Old Town and there was a sauna in the bathroom. Staff either had difficulty with English or were fairly unhelpful.

The location was great and the hotel was cute in reception, but our room had no windows, was in the basement and the shower leaked everywhere. They put fake windows that open into the hallway so everyone could hear us if we wanted to leave our windows open to air out the stuffy room. The breakfast was decent but the bed was uncomfortable and the staff weren't friendly.

Great stay at the Olevi Residence Hotel
This was our first time in Tallinn. We enjoyed it very much and the hotel played an important part of that. The room was affordable and nice. The breakfast was great. They allowed us to store our luggage after checkout so we didn't have to carry it around until our ship departure.

On arrival a total mix up with room number, wrong key wrong room, then you have to use the spiral staircase to get to you room, that's after finding g it through the maze of stairs. Breakfast WS good although the room a little small for everyone at the same time.our bed needed an upgrade but comfy, we would use again though so not all negative just expect the quirky and that is what you get,it's not the place if you don't do stairs no lift..

Charmijg hotel in Tallinn's Old Town. However, access to rooms is very convoluted and difficult to navigate, particiulaly for seniors or those with physical disabilities. Also, there was no bellhop to assist with luggage up and down these stairs, including a spiral staircase. WE asked for outr luggage to be moved to our room while we returned our rental car, but it was still at the front desk when we returned. Had to leave one suitcase in storage so as not to move through the labyrinth. If you want labyrinthian charm this is the hotel for you. If you want convenience, look elsewhere.

Very convenient, right in the center of the old city but pulling luggage is challenging with all the cobblestone streets and inclines. Even getting to our room was an experience. Fascinating & interesting but you need to be able to go down a very tight spiral staircase with your luggage and up and down hallways and stairs. No lifts.

Good central location in an ancient building. So there no parallel walls and you feel a little drunk walking up the stairs. It’s a bit run down and has some amusing diy fixes in the room, especially the radiator that began in the bathroom, went through the wall to the living room and finished inside a cupboard! But it was clean enough (my wife is a clean freak) and the breakfast was nice, and even had something for a vegan gluten free diet!
