Hotel on main street

Posted Mar 18, 2015
Pros: Price
Cons: Nothing worth mentioning
Location: on main street
Hotel is located on main street and is about 1/4 mile away from the beach strip. Small hotel about 25 rooms. Rooms are large and clean. Hot breakfast. surrounding area covered by green tropical plants. Many activities can be booked at the hotel. Best value you will find in Tamarindo for under $100/night. There is a lounge located behind the hotel and depending on your rooms location you may hear music late at night. Also you cannot flush toilet paper due to water recycling

Fun place to stay!

Posted Mar 3, 2015
Pros: Great location, Breakfast, nice pool, private cabin.
Location: About 5 minutes from downtown Tamarindo, beach is a must obviously. Also great places to eat!
I thought this hotel was in the prefect location....about a 5 minute walk to the main beach and centre of Tamarindo. I liked being close to everything but a bit removed from the noise. The one thing is they have an open Mic night every Wednesday at the bar in the hotel which is very loud. I wouldn't let it deter you though.....the night is a lot of fun. We were so tired one of the nights we put some earplugs in and slept through the whole thing ! Breakfast is very good.....only a few options but its free and tasty so good enough for me! I would definitely return!

Bon séjour au Pasatiempo

Posted Feb 9, 2015

Oasis in Tamarindo

Posted Feb 8, 2015
This was an amazing little hotel! Very close to central Tamarindo and the beach, but far enough away to get a great sleep. The breakfasts are lovely and so is the pool area. I love live music and the hotel has music three nights a week. Helene and her staff treated me like family. I loved my stay!

Nice hotel close to the beach

Posted Feb 1, 2015
Pros: The pool and the gardens. We were close to restaurants. The beach was a 5 minute walk and beautiful.
Cons: If anything just a little better room cleaning.
We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very quiet . We enjoyed the pool, always chairs and the pool was clean. The breakfast was always good but there only 2 different breakfasts served after 9 days we needed a change. The rooms were big and the beds were great. We had to ask to have our floors washed, they were dirt! The cleaning could have been better but not a big problem. The staff was great and the Wednesday open mic was so much fun We would return if we were in Tamarindo again

Great time in a friendly hotel.

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: Charming felling, very clean
Cons: Breakfast are very good but when you stay for 10 days, you would like more options than scramble eggs or pancakes, Maybe local food would be good :)
Location: Very central and close to all amenities, we did, mangrove tour, turtle tour, sunset cruise, diving, zip line, water tubbing, horse riding, beach
We stayed at Passatiempo for 10 days and it was great, The rooms (cabanas) are very charming and have a lot of room to offer along with a sitting area outside your front door. The bar/restaurant offers good food at a modest price, Wednesday nights are very nice with the open mic music venue. The pool area is awesome to relax after a long day under the sun. But most importantly, the staff is amazing, they will help you in anyway they can, ex; we had to leave on a day trip at 5am and was too early to attend breakfast, The guys made us a togo fruit breaky in some tupperwares, That's what i call going above and beyond. Thanks for the great stay, we will refer our friends for sure.

Nice hotel away from most of the noise

Posted Jan 11, 2015
We enjoyed this hotel as it was just outside (5 minute walk max) of the downtown craziness of tamarindo. It was fairly quiet which was nice when you wanted to get a good nights sleep! They had a live music night which was great too - really talented musicians and lots of fun (but dont plan on sleeping because its loud!). The only downside was our room (#3) didn't have a hammock like all of the others and it was right beside the pool! Breakfast was plated but they mixed up the menu so it was good! The room was a bit small but had nice chairs to sit outside of so it wasn't a problem. Wifi works everywhere too!

Hotel Pasatiempo

Posted Dec 18, 2014
Pros: Staff, location, price, good breakfast, comfy beds.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Location: Close to the beach and all amenities in town..
We stayed here for 10 nights and really enjoyed. I couldn't imagine a nicer place for the price point. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's close to the beach. The rooms are spacious, clean with a nice decor and very comfortable beds. There is live music about 3 nights a week with Wednesday being the party night going to about 12:30 am with the other nights wrapping up by 9:30 pm. That being said this is a very quite and low key hotel that's good for single travellers, couples or families.
