Excellent Hotel by the bay

Posted Oct 22, 2014
Every time I go to Bush Gardens I stay in one of the many hotels near the park, but I was never satisfied with the quality of the hotel. So this year I went for a little upscale hotel, and I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is very close to the airport and by the bay, it's big very welcoming and everything looks recently updated. The check in desk attendants were very friendly, the room was large and very clean, excellent. The price was a few dollars more than the ones close to Bush Gardens but not by much and the stay was very pleasant. Only draw back is like 15 to 20 min drive to Bush Gardens, but for me it worth it.

Can't get a better view for the money!

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: Staff is great and helpful. Rooms are clean. Great pool!
Cons: Our chain on the toilet was rusted through, so we had to lift the tank to flush. Not necessarily a big deal.
Location: That's the only thing I didn't like about the hotel...there's NOTHING nearby. Make sure you rent a car.
If I come to Tampa again I will definitely stay at the Best Western Bay Harbor Hotel.

Surprising Value!

Pros: value for $$
Right on the water and newly updated. Great place to stay for the money. It sits right on the water and the sunset from your balcony is amazing. Only a few minutes from the airport and 20 min drive from clearwater beach

Decent

Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Pool towels. Would be nice if there was a hot tub
Location: Shopping mall, on the bay. About 30 min to Busch gardens and to st. Petersburgh
The bar attached was pretty loud - lots of motorcycles were there and all took off at once, we're revying their engines for about 10 min so it made it hard to sleep. Pool towels were basically the size of a hand towel

Lots of marine life activity in the bay!

Posted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: Central location to where we needed to be. Close to the airport. Walking trail next to the hotel.
Cons: Hopefully, they are in the process of updating the whole hotel instead of just a few rooms.
Location: Airport near by and causeway over to St. Petersburg.
The hotel was a bit out dated but we noticed that they were in the middle of renovating rooms on the first floor. Our room was on the bay side, which was beautiful and fun to watch the marine life in the water. At night, however, the restaurant across the harbor and Hulk Hogan's restaurant were quite noisy until well after midnight. The pool was clean and the deep end was 8+ feet which is a nice change from the 4' deep smaller pools. There was an odor of low tide most of the afternoon and early evening but, that goes along with the territory. Room was well sized, beds were comfortable, and the patio was large enough for all of us to gather in the evening. Could have used a few more hangers in the closet.
