Reservation Issues

Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: Staff Condition Pool Gym Staff did I mention Staff?
Cons: One thing: Room svc wasnt able to answer phone. No answering service, fail safe, or work around. Front desk could only forwrd my call to the kitchen
Location: Bay beach, local club/bar, nice malls, Clearwater beach, Ft Desoto Beach, restaurants
I did have a tough time reserving a room for the Bay View vs the City View (parking lot). I lay that at the feet of Expedia initially, but we did get that corrected. Upon checking in, I asked the front desk what floor of the bay view we were on. They said they had me set for the city view. Verified I did pay the premium fee for the Bay View and they graciously accommodated my request. The room was in good shape, clean, and awesome view of the bay. The staff was very professional and courteous and I do intend to use this facility in the future. Pleasant experience overall!!

Pros: The Lobby is very nice - overlooking the bay --good location
Cons: It definitely needs to be spruced up so you want to return. The computer is very worn and the key characters are no longer legible.
The hotel is in good location for our needs at that time. I do believe it should have a more responsive front desk and the housekeeping needs a few tips on keeping the room in tip top order as other BW hotels . Our room was not made up one day and we had been gone several hours-- that is not acceptable.

You get what you pay for!

Pros: Nice view outside.
Cons: SERVICE!
Location: Liked Bahama Breeze. Good location.
Where do I begin? The older gentleman at the reception when we checked in was far from friendly. Never smiled. Very robotic. If you interrupt his spiel to ask a question, you can feel his sarcasm. Nothing gracious. The room was clean, but it was so disappointing NOT to have a desk lamp.if you want to work at night. By our third night, I asked for one and that's when they brought one to our room. Housekeeping during our entire stay DID NOT replenish the hot cups/coffee/sugar/creamer, as well as the soap and shampoo/conditioner. When they see a half empty toiletries, they do not leave new ones. They expect you to consume the whole thing till they're gone. You have to go to the front desk and get some. If you leave the flat iron out of the closet, they do not put it away. One morning, we decided to take pictures outside Hogan's restaurant. Coming back in, the door handle had fresh red paint!!! There were no signs. How do you even go back in without pulling on the handle and not get your whole hand stained with red paint? When we complained, the painters just said, "It's water based, you can wash your hands." Not staying there again. Nightmare!

Expected better...

Posted Apr 15, 2014
The stay wasn't bad, however, it could've been better. At time of check in, one employee available, I waited on line 10 minutes before another employee arrived. Went out for dinner, unable to find parking upon return to hotel. The drapes were torn and sir conditioner wasn't working properly...could've been better.

Nice affordable hotel in great location.

This is my second stay at this hotel. It is located in a very convenient location - close to Tampa International Airport and the major roads to the downtown area and across the bay to Clearwater. It is in need of some updating, but very clean. It is adjacent to Hogan's Beach Bar, and the music gets a little loud on the weekend nights, but nothing that I could not sleep through. Free WIFI and parking makes this a good value.

Remarkable sunset view!

Posted Apr 14, 2014
I was happy to be able to check in my room before sunset. It was such a pleasure to see the beautiful sunset right from the balcony of my room. One of the front desk staff was quite unfriendly when I asked if breakfast was included. However, the other younger guy was extremely helpful when I "complained " at midnight about the extreme loud music from the restaurant next door. He literally ran out to talk to them and the music was turned down like in 5 minutes. Overall, not cheap for the facility quality but again the water front view makes it all worthy.

Pleasant Atmosphere

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: The bay view, tikki gazebo at the end of the dock and the pool.
Cons: Any kind of continental breakfast even is needed.
Location: Eateries in the immediate vicinity is very limited. 3-4 miles away are restaurants of every kind and 2 malls.
Though check in was rather rough, they told me my room would be ready at 2 but it was almost 4. Could have been all the Spring breakers that checked out that day that housekeeping could not keep up. After that my 6 day stay was very pleasant. It may sound corny but there are positive vibes in the air. The bay view was great and live music could be heard evenings and weekends. My visit was business oriented so I brought carry out from the Westshore area back with me. Hogan's is okay, but not for every night.
