Bay side view is well worth the extra few dollars we woke up to see Dolphins playing in the water right outside the hotel balcony

Nice view

If you stay on the bay side, you do hear the music from Whiskey Joe's bar. The restaurant had good food. It is a little difficult to actually get to from the airport. The check in staff could have been nicer, but the check out staff was very good

Pros: It is on beautiful Tampa Bay and there are usually birds and marine life all around
Cons: The hotel needs to have a visble leader (General Mgr +) that appears to take the reins and show leadership to me---because many of us will not return.
Imagine going to the city of Tampa Bay with 12 year old boys to engage in championship football and fun in the sun from the cold of Chicago. Now imagine your hotel basically turning 180 degrees on you. The same hotel, which was used for this same situation last year, seemed to fade terribly. The pool, the children mainstay, was not "heated" as advertised. From Sunday on, I, along with numerous others, asked the front desk personnel to turn on the heat. I was told that it was only to be 5 degrees above ambient temperature to "it takes 24 hours to heat...." On Weds I even requested to speak to Manager Williams on the pool. She stated that she had been off the first four days of our trip (Sat-Tues), but she would look into it. She stated that their pools in England are not heated, but I chided her that this is now Florida, and the pool was heated last year.. The pool seemed to appear much warmer on the day we departed the hotel---Sat. Remember the 12 year old boys, full of excitement and energy? Well, without the pool, they lost a key outlet to expand all that energy. Now, instead of being in a relatively controlled pool environment, they would drift through the halls and stairways of the hotel. They grouped on floor landings/steps in the stairways and sat around during off-time. Amongst the pool debacle, the hotel itself appeared dirtier than last year. As I took the stairways instead of the elevators, I saw garbage sitting in the same spot for days.

Booked by Expedia and we had No reservation when we got there! Hotel staff was kind and I was glad they still had rooms. I had to pay for my own room and fought till Expedia called and paid for our room with an Expedia credit card. What a hassle!

TAMPA - Best Western Bay Harbor Hotel

Posted Dec 20, 2014
Pros: Close to Shopping, airport and 20 min straight ride to the ocean.
Cons: More upright chairs to sit on the pier and lawn.
Location: International mall Restaurants are great. Clearwater and St.pete's beaches have fine white sand. Close to Down town, zoo and Bush Gardens.
My sister and i had a great time. Maid service was excellent, location is great for beaches without the high cost of staying right on the beach.

Very convenient for business obligations in Tampa.

Active, bustling place. Found the location quite strategic for multiple appointments in Tampa, Clearwater, Oldsmar, and St. Pete. Good quick food in the bar, rooms had functioning Wi-Fi, and showers had excellent water pressure! Housekeeping staff deserve a commendation for finding & turning in to the front desk my phone charger (after absentmindedly being left behind).

Very disappointing stay

Posted Dec 17, 2014
Pros: The Bay View side view is just beautiful and we even saw dolphins one day.
Cons: Improvement at the front desk.
Location: Clearwater beach is not too far.
The hotel was not up to par from our last stay. We were disappointed that the hotel pool was not heated even though we kept being told it would be fixed. After a week, never turned on. Staff at front desk was unfriendly and did not appear to want to help us with our issues. Elevator kept breaking. On a positive note, our room was cleaned daily and housekeeping was exceptional. The room view (bay side) is beautiful and the sunsets were amazing. The hotel restaurant food was very good as well. Unfortunately, we will not return to this hotel.
