Good stay until time to hit the hay....

Beautiful views, clean rooms GREAT location, decent food.....but the bed was like sleeping in a bowl of pudding. The mattress has me needing a back adjustment. They really need an improvement in this area.

one night stay

Posted Jan 29, 2015
Stayed on the fourth floor and it was rather quiet compared to my friends who had a room on the first floor, it was noisy. The on site restaurant was very expensive...food was good but the drinks were close to $9 and served in small plastic cups. Hotel was great and I'd stay there again, but have second thoughts about the restaurant.

Nice hotel close to the airport and beach.

Posted Jan 28, 2015
Pros: The hotel is nicely situated (i.e., close to airport and beaches). The price is fair.
Cons: Management.
We were there during the New Year holiday (31 – 3 Jan) and had the water view. The music from the Hogan’s bar was loud. Anyway, here’s what was very disappointing: We extended our visit an extra day. We had to check-out and then check back-in on the morning of the day extension then left for the day. We return later that evening (3 Jan 2015) in time to watch the Steelers game. Well, our room was not made. This was very disappointing to come back to a dirty room after a long day’s work of painting our new condo. Well, I got fresh towels and the front desk offered maid service, but I did not want someone in my room while watching football. Next morning I checked out and wanted some kind of compensation. Hey, I purchased a dirty room for the day and felt that I should not have to pay full price. The morning clerk did not have the authority to do anything. He said his manager will contact me later. Our new furniture was arriving at the condo so we were staying in the area for another week. Well, no one called. The next day, I stopped by and spoke with the manager. She instructed me that Best Western does not compensate for such an incident. What? I purchased a dirty room. To top it off, the bathroom sink was stopped up for all four nights. A maintenance man did come to the room, but it didn’t work. I reported it again when I checked-out and back-in on the morning when I extended my stay. After coming back to a dirty room, I woke up again with a stopped-up sink. POOR management.

Had a bay view and it was very pretty.

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: Mainly the staff. They were very busy but always friendly.
Cons: I think the room could have been a little better. There was tile missing in the bathroom.
Location: The location was great and near Clear Water beach, lots of resturants(which the shuttle would take you to a few) and the airport.
Granddaughter was coming to stay and her plane did not come in until night, very handy to have the hotel shuttle to pick her up at the airport.

Good location for exploring the Tampa Bay area

Posted Jan 25, 2015
The Best Western Bay Harbor hotel sits on the shore of Tampa Bay, on the eastern end of the Courtney Campbell Causeway. It should be worth noting that only half of the rooms have bay views with the other half overlooking the parking lot. The hotel does offer an outdoor patio area on the first floor should you want to have a look at Tampa Bay, but be aware that the hotel does allow smoking on the patio. Should one avail themselves of the view, one can see most of Old Tampa Bay, along with a great view of the causeway as it makes its way across the bay. The room was clean and pretty much what I expected. The major selling point of this particular hotel is its location. Located at the eastern end of the Courtney Campbell Causeway, the hotel offers easy access (via car) of not only Downtown Tampa (via the nearby and easily acceesible I-275) but also Clearwater (via the causeway) and St. Pete (also via I-275).

Very Nice One-Night Stay

Posted Jan 24, 2015
Pros: See above.
Cons: Having only two elevators was a downer.
Check in was easy, welcoming. Noisy outside, but balcony door blocked it out. Room Service could have been a little prompter. Most helpful was desk manager who answered our questions about shuttle, travel times, transportation. I would return!
