Solid choice
Posted Jan 15, 2013
Pros: Breakfast service, room View and features
Cons: Cheaper valet parking for guests
The main reason for choosing this hotel was because of the location that it had. It is close to almost everything that there is to do in Tampa. The other is that the hotel staff was in top form, specifically the service and the food quality in the morning breakfast. The room was clean and had a great view of the downtown area. In short I strongly recommend this hotel.

Excellent Value
Posted Jan 9, 2013
Pros: It was modern and clean. Great staff. Free cocktains 5:30-7pm was also a nice touch.
Cons: Valet Parking was overpriced. The valet was not forthcoming with other options.
Location: Location is great for attending concerts and large venue activities. However, there are few restaurants within walking distance.
Everything you would expect in a first class establishment. The suite was perfect. Clean and comfortable. The beds were especially nice. Service was top notch. The location to the venue we were attending was amazing. Just a short walk, about one block.

Clean and affordable hotel, meh staff.

In crystal river, there's very few options. I read the reviews on this place and based on others chose it as it was my first time here. The people in the town here are super friendly, I can't say the same about the person at the front desk. We walked in, and he just stared at us, finally I spoke up. He didn't talk at all, other than tell us our room number (outloud, which is usually a hotel no no). He didn't tell us how to get to our room or any friendly greetings/enjoy your stay things... that all said, the room was clean, the beds comfy, clean sheets etc... Basic hotel room, but CLEAN. That's all I was looking for and those expectations were met.

Great hotel overall
Posted Jan 27, 2013
I arrived at the hotel on Friday May 24 around 12 noon. I had called ahead to ask for early check in as I was in town for a funeral and the receptionist stated that she would mark my account. Unfortunately my room was not available, but the front desk staff was able to get me into another room that was equivalent (king suite as oppose to double suite). Overall the room was pleasing with comfortable beds and updated décor. I would have enjoyed it even more if I was able to open the window from time to time but this was not possible. Also I didn't care much for the carpet which was clean but had a funky print. The lobby area was great with a wishing fountain, corner store, business center, in house restaurant/bar and Starbucks. The pool area was very romantic and I thought it would have been better to have a separate family pool for the little ones. Overall I enjoyed the convenience of the downtown location and would stay here again.

Pros: Staff was excellent
Cons: Nothing!
My stay at this hotel was awesome! It was in a convenient spot, the rooms were awesome, there was a restaurant/bar in the hotel along with a starbucks. Cabs right outside, convention center next door, and the staff was excellent! They were all very pleasant and accommodating!

Great Hotel, expensive WiFi
Posted Jan 23, 2013
Pros: The rooms were spacious and clean
Cons: WiFi fees
Location: Downtown Tampa at the convention center
The hotel and the entire staff was excellent. My only disappointment is the corporate policy regarding WiFi. To charge a daily rate of $15 per day per device is in believable and unexceptable. I will share that information with everyone that I know hat may be considering staying at a Hilton or its affiliates.

Nice Hotel

Pros: trolley access
Cons: buffet breakfast could have been hot.
Location: Trolley takes you to the Florida Aquarium, channelside theater and restaraunts , Ybor city. St. Pete times forum within walking distance.
Great location. Just hopped the trolley for an all day pass of $5/person and went to Ybor City. Trolley runs on Sat. evening till 2 am. Very clean and quiet rooms. The buffet breakfast was just OK, eggs and sausage and bacon were all cold.Definitely stay here again.

Great downtown location!
Posted Jan 30, 2013
The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect for easy access to all downtown Tampa events. Overall, the hotel was clean, but the wooden surfaces throughout the room were dusty. The clean bathroom made up for it, so I didn't score cleanliness too low. Dusting is the only area I can say definitely needs more attention!

Great Hotel but don't venture too far away
Posted Jan 23, 2013
Pros: Next to the Times Forum where we went to concert and a hockey game. Nice to simply walk home afterwards instead of a long drive.
Cons: the surroundings near a dreadful downtown area that was vacant and unclean
Location: Horrible. Only good thing was that the Tampa Times Forum was next door. Other than that area was run down, nothing to do around the hotel
Embassy SUites is always nice though over the last few years they have really cheapened up on the morning breakfast, fake eggs, bacon, etc... quality way down. Rooms were nice size and very clean. Most vending machines didn't work and you have to go up a floor to get ice or soda. Only one located on each floor. Great place if you are just in town for a concert or game at the Forum. Great to just walk home after the event. That was the best part. Other than that tampa waterfront full of abandonded buildings, vacant office space, and way underdeveloped. Nothing to do around town or around the hotel in fact, it was a bit dangerous and seedy looking West of the hotel. Most restaurants were empty and Y'bor was such a sleezy town and over hyped. Like New Orleans but with a lot less activity. Seemed very seedy.
