Nicely redone Hotel.

Pros: See above!!!
Cons: Empty large buildings on side & in front of hotel. Neighborhood questionable to walk around in?
Location: close to down-town events. Raymond James & George Steinbrenner stadium a block away. Neighborhood has some blight.
Very clean, comfortable accommodations, excellent customer service close to all Tampa events. Good free breakfast with stay. Quiet!!!!

Not the hotel for us
Posted Jan 21, 2013
Pros: pond, pool, hot tub, staff, breakfast
Cons: room, neighborhood
Location: Tampa
I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The only positive was the friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is in a bad part of town. The furniture in the room was badly stained. The room smelled moldy. There was a huge crack that went room one side of the room to the other. We had to ask for more rags for the bathroom. Only one elevator worked and I didn't feel safe in it. They did have a decent breakfast with bacon, pancakes, and other things. The pool was nice but I really enjoyed the hot tub. There is a pond out back with ducks that were fun to feed. But this hotel was not worth what I paid.

The hotel was nice overall. I stayed one night as I had a layover. It was further from the airport than I expected resulting in a $17 cab ride as the shuttle stops at midnight. The hotel is very close to raymond james stadium and to the yankee's traning facilities.

We has a great experience. The hotel was very clean the staff was great, breakfast was excellent, the cost was fair....you couldn't ask for much more. I would highly recommend this Holiday Inn Express! I selected this hotel as a bookend of our trip to Florida and I am glad that I did...great place to stay!

Disappointing
Posted Jan 31, 2013
Pros: Airport shuttle, however only available on the half hour.
Cons: Quality of room - bad pillows, loud air conditioner and fridge.
Poor quality for the money. Needs updated. They double booked our room so we went into a dirty room with other people's belongings - did not feel safe after this experience. The front staff was very accommodating and changed our room immediately. Didn't receive our wake up call in the morning.

Staff is exceptional

Pros: Debbie the manager, the shuttle, the convenience of food in the am and evening
Cons: Linen was good quality and current ( 2 sheets covering the blanket) but lamps needed replacement
Location: Perfect
The staff goes above what they need to do to make you comfortable. We thought that Debbie, the manager was cloned because she was everywhere (reception desk, at the entrance making sure the shuttles were on time, the breakfast buffet, etc). Even when a storm blew out a transformer, the staff made sure people had flash lights and such. Perfect location if you are going to the game or on a cruise and the shuttle will take you anywhere within 3 miles/ no charge. Without the staff this is an ok place/ with Debbie and the others, I would choose this hotel again.

The hotel is sufficient for a one night stay but I wish we selected a hotel with more amenities and ambiance for a four night stay. You can walk to George Steinbrenner field or Raymond James Stadium OR take the hotel shuttle. The front desk staff was pleasant and provided good information. The housekeeping staff did not speak English. We only had 4 hangers in our room and could not get more from them. There seemed to be several groups staying at the hotel during our stay and they overtook the breakfast buffet and were often loud in the hallways. I would not recommend a first floor room for this reason. We had a wet spot in front of the closet in our room; we reported it upon arrival and it remained until we checked out. We think the shower may cause the issue but not sure. One of the bedside lamps had a broken on/off switch so we had to unplug the cord to turn it off. The water cooler in the exercise room was out of water 3/4 days however they did allow us to take bottled water from the front desk on one day. There is a nearby diner (walkable) that was clean and served good "regular" food.
