A few issues.

Posted Aug 23, 2014
We booked a room, via Expedia with 2 beds. They had us booked for a room with 1 bed. We requested, via Expedia, a room on a high floor with a view. The view was of the inside of the hotel lobby. The room had very bad air conditioning and sleeping was uncomfortable. We were charged for items taken from the fridge that we didn't take. They corrected the mistake, but it should'nt have happened.

Just OK, if for one night

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Hotel room is smaller then expected. A/C vent is very small, so even with the temperature set at 65 the room was very hot. Pillows had stains, one of which looked like was recent, so doubt it got changed at turnover. Just is not worth the price, though I received a discount.

Amazing stay... near airport.

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: Clean rooms, and great location near food and freeways.
Cons: Temperature control. Either it's on or off. It doesn't keep self regulated for a set temperature.
Location: One of the best restaurants we have ever been to was just across the street. Yum!
It was a super nice hotel. We would have given it a 4.5 star status. The lobby atmosphere was decked out, lots of room to relax, wonderful lounge music, 24 hour room service, everything was delightful.

Pros: I loved the glass elevator and the roof top pool that was open until 10pm. I liked the facilities all round.
Cons: They should raise their rates rather than having so many additional charges. That makes people feel a little uncomfortable.
Location: We went to the Aquarium which was about 15 minute drive from the hotel. There is a café there that has a variety of food for approx. $6 - 8 each.
This hotel is very modern in style. The room was impeccable and very nicely decorated. It was very clean, had a TV, mini-bar, table and chair with ottoman. The bed was awesome and had a nice duvet and tapestry cover. The bathroom supplied a dark colored wash cloth for make-up removal as well as cotton pads for makeup removal. There were the standard things provided, however I will say that their soap, shampoo and conditioner was lemon verbena. It smelled wonderful and was of good quality. They had a fantastic shower head also. My only complaint was that there were additional charges for the mini-bar, high speed internet, a micro-wave if you wanted one and even local calls. There was no breakfast included in the cost. The hotel also has a business center and a steakhouse on the premises. There is valet parking at the front of the hotel but it is not mandatory. You can park in the garage around the building at the back. There is a mall across the street where you can find 3 restaurants and inside a food court with many choices of food. On another street across from the hotel there is a Taco Bell that serves breakfast and has great coffee.

Nice hotel near the airport

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Overall a good experience. The staff was mostly friendly, small incident with the cleaning crew but got it immediately resolved with the front desk. Was a short drive to the airport and there were great restaurants to enjoy locally as well.

Close to airport, far from beach

Posted Aug 1, 2014
Pros: Great staff! Airport shuttle driver gave good tips for fantastic seafood restaurant within walking distance
Location: Convenient to airport; located on a busy street. An upscale shopping mall is about a mile away.
This was our second stay. Everything about this hotel was lovely; room, service, décor, helpfulness of staff. We chose it because it was close to the airport, and close to the residence of the relative we were visiting. However to get to any beach you will need a rental car. The hotel called a cab (Cadillac limo) for us, and the driver knew of a small, lesser-known beach about two miles away from the hotel (Cypress Point Beach). So, we got to visit the ocean. Although I really like the Intercontinental, next time we go to Tampa Bay we will find a hotel closer to a large beach, such as St Petersburg or Clearwater, FLA. Also, one side of the hotel has a distant view of the ocean

Not like Intercontinental I have stayed in before

Posted Jul 30, 2014
I have stayed here 5 times in last 10 weeks and in 3 of the rooms had problems. Air conditioning didn't work completely, tub didn't drain and this time, the faucet wouldn't turn off. Also the toilet had a tank cover that was too small for it. I have stayed in some great ones before and this one surprises me. the staff is nice but they need to improve their maintenance.
