high class hotel, great for business travelers

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: updated furnishings, plenty of desk space, clean smell, comfortable and stiff bed
Cons: nothing
I frequent tampa and decided to stay at the intercontinental after my colleagues remarked that the other nearby hotels were not business friendly with the room arrangements. I am glad he shared that with me. Now, I can share that I had a pleasant and comfortable business trip experience there. I would stay there again.

A few issues.

Posted Aug 23, 2014
We booked a room, via Expedia with 2 beds. They had us booked for a room with 1 bed. We requested, via Expedia, a room on a high floor with a view. The view was of the inside of the hotel lobby. The room had very bad air conditioning and sleeping was uncomfortable. We were charged for items taken from the fridge that we didn't take. They corrected the mistake, but it should'nt have happened.

Just OK, if for one night

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Hotel room is smaller then expected. A/C vent is very small, so even with the temperature set at 65 the room was very hot. Pillows had stains, one of which looked like was recent, so doubt it got changed at turnover. Just is not worth the price, though I received a discount.

Amazing stay... near airport.

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: Clean rooms, and great location near food and freeways.
Cons: Temperature control. Either it's on or off. It doesn't keep self regulated for a set temperature.
Location: One of the best restaurants we have ever been to was just across the street. Yum!
It was a super nice hotel. We would have given it a 4.5 star status. The lobby atmosphere was decked out, lots of room to relax, wonderful lounge music, 24 hour room service, everything was delightful.

Pros: I loved the glass elevator and the roof top pool that was open until 10pm. I liked the facilities all round.
Cons: They should raise their rates rather than having so many additional charges. That makes people feel a little uncomfortable.
Location: We went to the Aquarium which was about 15 minute drive from the hotel. There is a café there that has a variety of food for approx. $6 - 8 each.
This hotel is very modern in style. The room was impeccable and very nicely decorated. It was very clean, had a TV, mini-bar, table and chair with ottoman. The bed was awesome and had a nice duvet and tapestry cover. The bathroom supplied a dark colored wash cloth for make-up removal as well as cotton pads for makeup removal. There were the standard things provided, however I will say that their soap, shampoo and conditioner was lemon verbena. It smelled wonderful and was of good quality. They had a fantastic shower head also. My only complaint was that there were additional charges for the mini-bar, high speed internet, a micro-wave if you wanted one and even local calls. There was no breakfast included in the cost. The hotel also has a business center and a steakhouse on the premises. There is valet parking at the front of the hotel but it is not mandatory. You can park in the garage around the building at the back. There is a mall across the street where you can find 3 restaurants and inside a food court with many choices of food. On another street across from the hotel there is a Taco Bell that serves breakfast and has great coffee.
