Perfect for anyone!

Pros: Clean, friendly staff, comfortable beds and pillows, cold ac, yummy breakfast, quiet.
Cons: Carpet needs to be replaced or cleaned, due to the 2 large stains in room 220.
Location: Close to the Lowry Park Zoo, easy to get to the Florida Aquarium from this hotel.
I was nervous about staying here at first, I'd never stayed at a LaQuinta and travel alone with my young son. We usually stay at 4 or 5 star hotels, but on this occasion we needed just a one night cheap place to stay that was close to the Lowry Park Zoo. From the moment we walked in, I felt so relieved. The lobby is nice, up to date and clean, and the check in was friendly and fast. Our room was on the 2nd floor, and was very clean with the exception of a few stains on the carpet, which did not bother me at all. The bathroom was super clean as well. The beds and pillows were so comfy - I think I slept better that night than I ever have in a hotel before. I felt very safe and secure the entire time. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, which is someone small, but worked just fine for my son to take a swim and cool off. It was very quiet, with the exception of a few folks slamming their doors, but no noise at all after about 730pm. The breakfast was very yummy, lots of variety. The coffee was horribly strong, but I can live with that. The manager checked us out and was very friendly. The entire staff was very nice. I will definitely consider LaQuinta for our travels from now on. I was really impressed. I think Expedia has this hotel at a 2 star... I definitely give it a 3 or 4. --- P.S. The room smelled clean and nice.

Nice quiet hotel stay

The pictures give an accurate image of what the hotel look like. There was no night time noise that I've had at some other places. I do wish they would tell you when you book through Expedia that there are additional fees like roll away beds other hotels give you that info but they claimed it was do to me booking through the 3rd party site

Great location in Tampa

Initial room was not up to standards. But in shower, wrapper on floor, freezer was iced up and room did not smell very good. Manager put us in another room which was very nice. Breakfast was very good and our visit there turned out great. Thanks to the staff for making a questionable stay very nice.

Holiday Stay

Posted Dec 30, 2014 on Hotels.com
Enjoyed our stay during the Christmas holidays visiting family. Mr. Patel, the GM, was charming and made sure we were having an enjoyable stay. At his recommendation at breakfast, we tried a new item on the menu - the egg white spinach omelette. It was delicious and We'll be looking for it on our next visit. The only negative was on our way out near the elevator on the second floor, someone had let their pet do its business on the carpet by the elevator door and just left it. We couldn't believe this. The poor maid was cleaning it up. Shame on this dog owner. I just wish your hotel was not a pet friendly one.
