“not too bad, would stay again, but just an average hotel”

Staff was friendly, room was as clean, no bugs, strange sound in the room, but we used the TV's sound therapy all night to drown it out. Breakfast was 2 kinds bagels, 2 kinds muffins, waffles, canned fruit, 2 cereals, instant oatmeal, and boiled eggs...coffee, tea OJ and water. Very close to Brandon town center mall!

“Not a great option”

The door to my room would not lock. While I didn't expect a 4 star experience, the hotel could have been cleaner and the safety of a locked room would have been nice.

“Great location! Great for the price!”

“Not as nice as last year. Need to get maintenance checking ALL rooms.”

We were put in smoking room first night- the smoke was terrible, had to take an allergy pill to keep my eyes from itching. No non-smoking avaliable, we were moved the next day, day staff very helpful and when we returned around 3:00 pm the staff recognized me and had new room keys waiting. The bathroom door did not lock in either room and door knobs were loose. Tubs were noticibly scratched and first room burn marks in multiple spots. Had the "do not distrube" sign up until about 11:00 am one day and the room was never cleaned. The far garbage can was not emptied until I moved it by the door, after 2 days. On the third floor the WiFi did not work (first night in smoking room.) on second floor had no problem with WiFi. This is 3rd time staying and Sorry to say the experience went down. Breakfast was still nice and so were the staff but the rooms were a disappointment. The final bill indicated a rate $10/night less than I paid, I feel as though I was over charged $50 (that may be more an Expedia problem?) Eventhough the staff was great next year I will probably look for a different hotel.

Area recommendations

We were in town for State Fair, Brandon is East of Tampa & Fair grounds, excellent selection for meals and the Mall is very nice. (I lived there 10yrs ago, it has grown considerable,I could have used a map with all the new roads around the Mall.) Ybor City is West of Fairgrounds on Hwy 60 this area is great for night time meals and clubs, very little shopping. For you super shoppers- there is No livestock feed at either Walmart in Brandon, found a Great Feed store on MLK & MacIntosh rd. about 10 miles east of the fair grounds. Tampa has a great Zoo and Aquarium, and for the animal lover's wanting to spend no extra money the County Animal Shelter is Free and has open walk thru visiting this is on Faulkenberg Rd. remember you are visiting No adoptions.

“Anniversary celebration Carlos Santana Concert”

After reading some of the reviews my husband and I were concerned about staying at he hotel. Upon our very late arrival, we were greeted by the front desk person with a smile, and welcoming conversation. She had us in our room in record time. When seeng the room we both asked why other people would make such comments. The room was clean, quiet, and very accomidating. When getting ready to retire for the evening, we both noticed that the bed had feather pillows for with I am allergic to. My husband called the front desk, she looke dhigh and low, and found me two of the best pillows I had ever slept on. Kodos.. Our stay was great and we would recommend this LaQuinta location to all that visit the Brandon area.

“Extremely good for the price”

We were very pleased to find the hotel and our room very clean, the bed was very comfortable and the housekeeping was very good also. Although the hotel did not have a complete dining room or other ammenities that would make it a 5 star hotel, it was 5 star for us in comfort and cleanliness.

“The Quinta Stinkas”

This is a very smelly hotel. Clearly smoking is allowed everywhere. The hallways smelled of smoke and the rooms just smelled. The 'pool' was the size of a wading pool for children and situated behind the Eyeglass store. It was not open and there were piles of tiles in front. I guess it was being retiled, although I never saw anyone working on it. It is fairly close to the jail and on Friday lots of rowdy people arrived. There was noise all night long. We realized the next day they had come to visit people in the jail.
