The hotel was booked through Expedia. I choose this hotel because of it's proximity to the airport and they had a free shuttle service to the airport. When I got there, I was informed that the shuttle service didn't start until 7 AM--my flight was at 6:30. So ended up having to take a taxi after all. This information should be stated on the website for the hotel. Other than that, the hotel was just fine!

Cons: Clean carpets and get a lady in the breakfast area with a better disposition. Get new bath towels, these are rough and thin.
Location: Location good to everywhere. We have stayed at Quality Inn, Comfort Inns for a lot of years and this was really the worst.
Waited over an hour for shuttle at airport to take us to motel. Carpet really dirty. Lady in charge of breakfast was very unpleasant.

Pros: Size of room. Amenities in room. Very pleasant staff. Free parking, WIFI, and breakfast.
Cons: Room cleanliness (looks clean on the surface, but it really isn't)
Location: Downtown Tampa -- Convention Center, waterfront, Amalie Arena, etc.-- around 3 miles. Hyde Park neighborhood; Picnic Island Park
The location is actually kind of nice, near upscale Hyde Park neighborhood, and on a main road with lots of restaurants and stores. Hotel is well-maintained and the lobby and hot breakfast were nice. Room was spacious, with fridge and microwave which are important to us when we travel (and most of the really posh expensive places don't have them.) The room appeared clean enough but probably could have used improvement in this area; the soles of our feet got dirty walking on the carpet. Unfortunately, our particular room was located on the end adjacent to an intersection of three roads, and we heard lots of traffic noise, which we are not used to, so didn't sleep well. Didn't use the pool, so no comment. The only reason I wouldn't recommend this to a friend is that my friends aren't cheapskates like me. It was a decent place to stay if this is what your budget allows.

Location: Close to I-275 and a lot od restaurants and shopping near by
Hotel is in an okay location but is definitely old and outdated. When we opened the door, we were overwhelmed by a musty mildew smell. The a/c was extremely loud and the room just felt damp and humid. Very uncomfortable. Beds and comforters old. There were also ants in the bathroom area.

Great staff, not so great facilities

Location: Good for me as it was not too far from McDill AFB.
When I checked in 3am due to a plane delay, the staff was great and very friendly. The room however, left a little to be desired. The bathroom counter wasn't particularly clean and I ended up washing it down with a washcloth. Found the table for working in the room also sticky with something and I had to wash it down as well as the arm rests on the chairs which were grimy. Not good. Very convenient location though.

Looks nice on the outside, rooms old and outdated

Cons: They need to renovate and update the rooms. Small and dingy.
Checked in around 7pm, and when I asked about booking shuttle to airport for 5:30am, was told that their shuttle does not start until 7am. Was very disappointed as this was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel. Staff gave me a number for a taxi, and we had to call to schedule that. This hotel looks very nice in the picture on Expedia, and the outside is nice. The rooms are extremely old and outdated, bathroom is VERY small and has a window that anyone could crawl in. Airconditioning works but is very noisy and the room was extremely damp, bed felt wet and made it hard to sleep. Should not cost what it did for this type of room.

Cons: The things I mentioned above.
I booked this hotel partly to use the free shuttle from the airport. when I landed at 10:30 pm I called the hotel to find out that the shuttle had stopped running at 7:00 pm. I had to take a taxi which was an expense I had not wanted. My wife wanted an extra blanket and wash cloth for her face at 11:30 pm. I called the desk and they said that the maintenance people had gone home at 11:00 pm and they could not help us. I did not even begin to understand this.

Room had bad smell, and the smokers hung out on the balcony right outside our window.
