terrible reservation system, valet unreliable

Cons: be more serious and considerate with your trusting guests!!!!!
Location: All except the hotel was great
called to confirm my reservation 4 hours before arrival and informed them that I would be checking in by 11 pm, I was assured by hotel personnel that it was all good....upon arrival I was informed that they had overbooked the hotel and they had sold my room to someone else, at that time and very tired from the trip, I had to jump back on my car and drive 3 miles to check in into another hotel that they had to arrange for me to avoid from my having to sleep under a bridge that night..very very unprofessional and bad business practice to treat their guests like that. Will avoid staying at any Marriott hotel from this point forward. Terribly disappointed!!!!!!

Nice place to relax and have fun

Pros: everything
We stayed for the Fleetwood Mac concert, 3 nights. The staqff was superb. The room was great and the place is very lively and surrounding areas are secure. Ybor City was fun, free trolley ride from the hotel.

Trip to Tampa

Pros: Location Customer Service - the staff was great!
Cons: Some of the carpet and decor looked a little worn. Besides that - all was great!
Location: Trolley to other parts of the city Sports events
My daughter and I took a mini-vacation to Tampa, just for some sun and fun. The Marriott was on the water and it was just beautiful!

Lovely Hotel, Good Food, Expensive Parking

Pros: The hotel was comfortable and clean. The food was excellent and ample, in fact, my husband raved about his blue cheese angus burger.
Cons: Make alternative to valet parking readily available, free Internet service.
We stayed at the hotel one night after a football game. After an exhausting game, it was nice to have valet parking available, but for $24 a night, that's ridiculous. It would have been nice to have free Internet service for the price of the room. The redeeming qualities of the hotel were the friendly and helpful staff and the high quality restaurant food.

Hotel lack of warmth

Pros: The dock and canal walks,, outside sitting area's
Cons: Pool We booked this hotel with thoughts of rooftop swim Pool too cold, not heated, area pitiful, plastic seating.
Location: Location brilliant for water sports, walking, restaurants nearby.
Hotel looked lovely, first glance. But had no warmth or atmosphere, all staff looked and acted, like they were at the dentist. We were expecting a Christmas crowd, but hotel seemed desolate. Hotel had functions, and staff hired, were loud and obnoxious, shouting and singing, racing up and down the stairs, oblivious of their disruption, like no one was managing, or trained them to be discreet, mind you, they all looked like teenagers, who were paid for their speed. Our room was your basic hotel room, with rain damaged to the window and wall. Overall, no thank you. Let's hope their New Year week had a nice bust vibe. The area was scenic, lovely canal walks etc

Pros: The location and service level.
Cons: Get a different toiletry company that has a nicer scent.
Perfect location is attending an event at the Amalie Center with just a short walk from the hotel. The bar restaurant stayed open late due to the event which was very nice. Food and service considering how busy they were was pretty good. Valet was fastest we have ever seen. The only reason a "5" wasn't given for Room Comfort is that the air system is a bit loud and hard to fall asleep. We also didn't care for the toiletries. The brand they use didn't smell very nice.
