Nice downtown hotel

Posted Jul 1, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: free parking.
Location: Performing arts center, riverfront, good restaurants
Hotel was centrally located downtown, available parking-which you pay for, good restaurant, very gracious staff. Rooms are a little dated, but comfortable-excellent maid service. Shuttle service provided w/in a 2 mi radius.

Decent location

Posted Jun 23, 2015
Pros: the location
Cons: nothing about the hotel; just the road construction around the hotel.
Location: Plenty of things in the area to walk to. Different eating places downtown; the library across the street, the performing arts center across the street
We stayed at the Barrymore for our cruise. The staff was super nice and helpful. We were even able to check in early. Suggestions were given along with directions on things to do in the immediate area. The parking lot was full; but we were allowed to park in a "no parking area".

Downtown hotel is conveniently located

Posted Jun 16, 2015
Pros: We liked that there was a pool, it was pet friendly, staff was cordial and it was close proximity to all downtonw attractions.
Cons: Room furniture, add a compact fridge, add a larger coffee maker and more bell carts.
Location: While in town, we attended a party at the Floridian Palace, went to the Convention Center and to Amalie arena.
The hotel had sold out the on the day that we arrived, so the staff allowed us check in early. This gave us time to enjoy the pool, before attending the party that brought us into the downtown area. The rooms were clean and a bit stark with awkward hotel furniture (two beds, one desk & chair and one dresser/entertainment center/bar.) There would have been plenty of room to add a small fridge and a larger coffee maker. The 8th floor was decorated elegantly in navys and yellows, that worked in some places and not in others. We ate in the restaurant--they have a weird take on what a Reuben sandwich consists of. I didn't care very much for it as it was sweet and had undefinible ingredients within. Staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. Their shuttle service ran us down by the Convention Center and the Amalie arena. We chose to walk back to the hotel and it wasn't a bad walk from either attraction. Overall it was a great experience and I would do it again.

Comfortable

Posted Jun 8, 2015
Pros: Price
Cons: I got what I expected for the price. I don't have any recommendation base on that.
Location: Great location overlooking the river and lots of activities and restaurants near by.
The Hotel is a older hotel that has been updated. Room was clean and the staff was accommodating. I would stay again. Good Value!

Was very difficult to find parking at the hotel and they charged $8.00 per night to park when sometimes was very difficult to find spots. Elevators took a while to get to the floor due to defects.
