Okay for an overnight stay

Pros: Location was good.
The staff was pleasant and efficient. The hotel lobby was clean with a slightly odd layout. My room was very neat and a good size. The bathroom, though, definitely needed some updating. It did not match the quality of the other furnishings in the room.

Needs renovation

This is an OLD hotel badly in need of renovation and added amenities in the guest rooms. Also, stop charging for internet service, please.

convenient to downtown

Pros: Location was ideal for anything in Tampa
Cons: Construction was a bit of a pain to deal with.
Room was a bit small but comfortable. River walk was right outside and nice at night.

Nice hotel but hidden costs

Pros: Hotel was in great condition.
Cons: Parking costs were high. Didn't know hotels still charge for wifi but this one did. Our sheets on the bed had stains.
Location: Lots of fun things near by
I don't like surprises and there were a few that were costly. The hotel is very nice though and the staff was great.

July 4th Experience

Pros: The plus side was the location and being able to see the fireworks.
Got to the hotel a little early. When It came time to check-in at 3, my room was still not ready. Checked back at 330, room still not ready. Checked back at 400 room still not ready!!! Despite the fact that it was the holiday weekend, you would think the hotel would be prepared and staffed. The waiting area was full of disgruntled visitors really disappointed in the long wait. Then they brought out popcorn and bananas thinking it was going to fix everything. Despite the big delay in getting our room, we still had to check out at the set time. The room itself was ok...there were other peoples hair in the bedding. Cereal under the bed. A lot of cosmetic issues. The TV had bad reception. Fees for parking and room service and internet are ridiculous! I would not stay at this hotel again for the price. This hotel really ruins the Westin brand for me! There was a woman at the counter telling the clerk how someone recommended the hotel for her birthday and that she was really disappointed with how it all turned out with the bad customer service and gross room.

Nice location, beautiful view. Staff was absolutely GREAT! However, I was disappointed with the hotel. It was old and outdated. I found a pair of women shoes in the hotel. That was pretty gross. It had me skeptical about everything else I was touching.

4th of July overnighter

We arrived at the hotel around 6:00 PM, planning to check-in then walk to Channelside to board the Victory ship for fireworks that evening. The room was not ready so we parked, left our bags in the vehicle, and walk to the ship. We entered our room around midnight. the room was comfortable, clean, and comfortably furnished. Upon turning on the television, the neighbors began pounding on the adjoining wall, so we turn it off. It was disappointing that an upscale hotel in the heart of Tampa would have such poor sound insulation, reiterated with the morning guest exodus.

I booked this room the weekend of the 4th of July just to get away. The staff was welcoming but made 2 big mistakes that stuck with me.First I wasn't given a parking pass to park in the parking deck and was almost charged a daily fee until I showed the parking attendant that I was a hotel guest. The second mistake was that I booked this room and pages for it through expedia.But once I got to the hotel I was charged again (didn't notice until the next day when I checked my account). I went back down to the lobby to ask why and the representative said it happens sometimes and it will take 3 business days to go back on my card. The room overall wasn't clean. Anything that's meant to be white (sheets,comforter,shower curtains) had a Brown tint to it. The hotel is in a good area however.The staff was nice but those two mistakes really bothered me
