Dark and disappointing

Musty run-down facility. Greeted by no one, main entrance opens to unmanned booth and darkened unoperating bar/restaurant with 2people in it, one of whom finally asked if he could help us after watching us flounder around for assistance on arrival. Handed us keys and pointed up the stairs. Room: ripped comforter, stained pillowcase, no shampoo/conditioner/lotion, no bathroom ventilation, no book re amenities/local phone usage, 13" TV. Breakfast terrible -- keurig with no cups, stale powdered donuts, undrinkable OJ. When I asked for shampoo, the unprofessional "greeter" (the only employee we saw in 2 days) gave me a styrofoam cup half filled with pink liquid, and when housekeeping came later in the day, they left no shampoo and left untouched the stained pillowcase I left obviously out for them to see.

A well-kept secret hideaway

The hotel and its corteous owner (Greg) exceeded our expectations. This is the hotel we will definitely select the next time we happen to visit the area. The variety of complimentary breakfast choices was a very pleasant surprise. The room accommodations were as comfortable as a home away from home. The high speed Wi-Fi convenience was an added plus that contributed to our overall satisfaction. Kudos!

The Inn was large and old but charming. New carpeting in public areas. The room was small but clean. The bed was quite comfortable, the sheets were soft and the spreads were lovely. The bath towels were large and absorbent. The bathroom (and shower) was small but adequate and worked well (no leaks). As a B&B though, the room decor was lacking. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was OK but nothing fancy. All & all, compared to other rates we were quoted, and other places we stayed in the area, this was not a bad value.
