Hotel in between Hunter Mountain and town

Posted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Location, discount Hunter lift tickets, pool
Cons: Rooms - Draft around A/C unit (visible gaps), missing fan switch in bathroom, blown light bulb. Missing TV channel guide.
Location: The hotel has an indoor pool, sauna, restaurant/bar, ... Hunter Mountain is 5 min away!
Well situated, this hotel offers location at a high price. The checkin includes a "tour" of the facility which single threads the checkin process - not ideal after being enroute for a couple of hours with kids. During the checkin, the hotel offers a "meal plan" at a discounted rate. We opted only for breakfast which was good and allowed us to get out the door early in the morning. WiFi is only available in the lobby (extending barely into the rooms across the parking lot). Staff was helpful and courteous.

It was good, given what I was working with. Close to both Hunter and Wyndham Mountains,. Travel time was pretty good.

Excellent hotel, fun experience

This hotel was an unexpected gem. The staff were friendly and hospitable, and we had so much fun there - lots of amenities and things to do. We will definitely be back!

Well-maintained, but tired

Posted Jul 22, 2013
Pros: Beautiful garden out front; neat vintage light fixtures from 1965 NY Worlds Fair. Some nice vintage porch swings; property well-maintained.
Cons: More flexibility, better pricing in dining room & bar.
Location: Hunter Mountain; Kaaterskill Falls
We knew it was going to be a little funky, but the overall vibe was just too old-fashioned and fussy for our taste.

Low end hotel

Posted Feb 25, 2013
Decorated in a style that is very discutable, the hotel is also very noisy. There is no noise insulation between rooms. We get to hear every step of the room above an people speak in the corridors and neighboring rooms... Until 2am. On top of that, the room had no heat when we arrived. On a positive note the staff was nice and helpful. They are just completely let down by the overall infrastucture.

Pros: price,clean,warm room
Cons: decor outdated
Location: Located on Main St. in Tannersville, a short walk or drive to a very limited number of shops and restaurants.
I chose this particular hotel based on its location to Tannersville, where I was going to be visiting for the 1st time.Perhaps this Villa was "happening" in the 70's.Its current decor is VERY outdated. The room had plenty of gold and glitter even to the popcorn style ceiling, which gave me a laugh. The bathroom was completely blue in color. The room however was clean and warm. The bed was comfortable and the price was affordable.I would not choose this hotel again personally. Also the 1 and only staff member upon checking in was pleasant but not very informative.Upon checking out early at 8:30am I discovered the front door to the lobby area was locked and no one in sight. There was no "drop box"for the room keys and I was not informed as to the protocol of returning the room keys.I did find a small "mail slot" at the bottom of the front door and placed them in there,as did another guest whom also didnt know what to do with her keys. There was an indoor pool and dining area however neither was open to my knowledge.

Nice hotel!

Pros: Pool, bar, game room
Hotel was very clean, room was comfortable. Pool and hot tub were great. Fantastic game room upstairs! Furniture is a little out of date, but that was no big deal. There was a comedian Friday night. I would stay here again.

fun place, lame bed

Posted Mar 20, 2012
Pros: Lame bed. Fine otherwise.
We booked last minute so I am assuming we got the worst room. The bed was horribly uncomfortable and we only had three pillows instead of 4. There were not very many channels on the Tv and we did not have a thermostat in our room. The rest of the hotel was fine though. Great location.

Nice location and amenities, but so-so condition

Posted Feb 26, 2012
Pros: Indoor pool and hot tub.
Cons: Outdated condition of rooms.
Location: Excellent for skiing, 5 mins to Hunter, 20 mins to Windham.
Overall, I would recommend the hotel with the caveat that you should not expect a modern, updated room or four-star hotel accommodations. The hotel, rooms, and furniture are all rather dated, borderline rundown, and for the price we paid, we expected a little more. That said, everything is clean, staff is friendly and helpful, and if you are skiing at Hunter or Windham, the hotel is in a terrific location. Also, the indoor pool and the game room are great for the kids, and the hot tub is a lifesaver after a full day of skiing or snowboarding. The hotel restaurant is not bad, though a bit on the pricey side, but there are also some excellent restaurants less than 5 mins down the road in Tannersville. Wifi is spotty, except in the lobby area. Also, no fridges or microwaves in the room, at least not in ours. The outdated condition of the hotel is really too bad, as with an update, this would really be a nice place to stay.

Good for a nice short stay!

Posted Jan 27, 2012
Pros: Clean room, discounted lift tickets, free made to order breakfast, short 10-15 min drive to the Mtn. The shower had excellent water pressure!
Cons: Our room (#22) was right by the stairs, very noisy. Limp pillows. No blow dryer
Location: Convenient location to the Mtns. To the town (a few restaurants), and there's a supermarket nearby! Recommend Maggie's Krooked Cafe! Yum!
Was looking for clean place to stay while on a ski trip to Hunter Mtn and Windham. I dunno why, but bed and breakfast scares me, and the motels nearby did not look clean. Villa Vosilla Resort turned out to be a pretty good stay! We stayed for 2 nights! The pros: Clean room, discounted lift tickets, free made to order breakfast (eggs, pancakes, french toast, bacon and sausage), short 10-15 min drive to the mountains. The shower had excellent water pressure! The Cons: Our room (#22) was right by the stairs, so it was super noisy whenever people walked by or went up and down the stairs, especially when they are jumping down the stairs. Limpy pillows. No blowdryer (I think you can request one, but I was too lazy). Overall I would recommend this place, it's clean and only a short drive to the mountains. They also have a pool and game room that we didn't get to use, but it's nice option to have.
